Chillyb1 Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Very nicely done. I love these Tamiya Peugeot kits. Great detail painting. What is your seatbelt material? It looks really good. Now, how are those decals coming along on the body?
kerc Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Gonna keep my eye on this one, Gronholm is my favorite rally driver ever!
935k3 Posted January 31, 2011 Author Posted January 31, 2011 Very nicely done. I love these Tamiya Peugeot kits. Great detail painting. What is your seatbelt material? It looks really good. Now, how are those decals coming along on the body? Thanks, I have not started decals yet. The body is painted TS49 Bright Red, I masked off and airbrushed the lower white areas with Krylon white. Tamiya gives you separate red stripe decals if you do this instead of using the white stripe decals. The seatbelt material is cloth medical tape from CVS Pharmacy cut and then airbrushed with Tamiya X-14 Sky Blue Acrylic. Don't use the waterproof medical tape because the paint peels off of it and does not look as good anyway. I will post some pics of the body and finished chassis soon. I have the Studio 27 decal sheet for all the tobacco markings.
Foxer Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 This is looking really good! I'm jealous of those Brembo decals on the brakes as I have a build of my old G35 Coupe that needs them. I tried making a decal but it's just too small for clarity on an ink jet.
935k3 Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 Here is a few pics of the finished chassis and painted body.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I like the color and the clean build. Great going.
cruz Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Dale, as always, great work man!!!! Can't wait to see it in person!!!
935k3 Posted February 18, 2011 Author Posted February 18, 2011 Decals are on. Future and some wax next. I had to make the Marlboro on rear wing because the Studio 27 one was too big. It's 94% of the original size.
Kanedge Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Now it's really taking shape. Can't be much left.
