Dr. Cranky Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Oh man, your attention to details is paying off big time. This is turning out to be a great model.
Custom Mike Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Cesar, this is beautiful work, please explain a bit more how you did this. It looks like a cast brass plate, I love it!. And did you polish the widows to remove the distortion? If so, I know what I'm doing on my next build!
Nitrozilla Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 One of these days, I promise to pay attention

And did you polish the widows to remove the distortion? If so, I know what I'm doing on my next build! Custom Mike... The plates are part of the PE detail set that's available for the Revell 09 Challenger kit. It's very simple to replicate what Cesar & i have done... Here's what i did for my set... All i did was use a red/black sharpie marker, coloured the whole plate then very lightly sanded over the top of the plate with a sanding stick- very fine grade ( about 2000 grit ) & bam.. Done! You can also do what Cesar did, spray-paint the colour you want & then sand... Simple Cheers Cliffo
Custom Mike Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Thanks for the information Cliff, I thought it looked like a P.E. part, but wasn't sure. The textured paint really makes it look really good, I've gotta try that!
Cesar Bossolani Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 Thank you guys!! Cliff was my Magnum savior!! Cliffo it's correct... I stole that plate from my Geronimo '09 Challenger p.e. set... The key of the moment it's "final assembly". Rear end it's almost done... Fell free to leave a feedback or critics Cesar
Guest Sickfish Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Lookin' fantastic bro!! That rear-end look's so good with those fabricated coils/shocks!! No worries Mike Cheers Cliffo!

darquewanderer Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Ceser, Don't you do anything simple? Having said that... don't stop what your doing. Your attention to detail never ceases to amaze me. I'll be watching this build.
Larryhagmansliver Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 This is outstanding. Can anyone tell me how you guys open up the grilles on models? I'm assuming you use a dremmel, which I have, but I've never had the nerve to actually try it for fear of ruining a part.
Dr. Cranky Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 This model is turning out fantastic. Great, clean skills on your part. Hope to see it finished soon.
shucky Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Cesar your doing great as always. Looking forward to seeing the finished product. Super job!

If you're worried about using a Dremel then don't use one, use an exacto blade . Just slice along the area you want removed, over & over, and pretty soon it'll come out/off. To smooth the area use miniature files or sanding sticks Cheers Cliffo
