Jim B Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Does anyone have any information on the actual lowboy that AMT used to make the one in their kit? Rumor has it that it's a 1970's era Loadcraft, but I'm not totally sure on that. What's the load capacity of it (25t, 50t, etc.)? I've searched the Forum, but I couldn't find much on the actual trailer. Thanks.
ewaskew Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 I don't know anything about your question on the brand and tons. I do Know they hold the old AMT Dozers and look right and it is a tri axle so it looks good with any heavy equipment on it. It is also a good kit to build into a break away lowboy or a super size lowboy. Hope this helps. What do you plan on doing with it.
highway Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Jim, I don't know very much on that kit either, other than you are correct that it is a Loadcraft trailer. I've seen a few of the 70s issues on ebay that have Loadcraft on the box.
Mr mopar Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Someone sould make the Decals for this trailer (Loadcraft)I read some where it was only used for 2 years by Loadcraft.
Jim B Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 Thanks for the answers, guys. I appreciate it. As for plans for it, other than build it, paint it, & put it on the shelf; no real plans right now.
highway Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Leo, do you know if the 75 ton is with or without the extra dolly?
mackinac359 Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Leo, Do you remember how wide the trailer was? The dolly looks like it is much narrower. Tim
Danno Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Is that the data plate I see near the front of the curb-side of the trailer, just ahead of the 'T51' marking? Thanks for the pix!
