made007 Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Got my airbrush cleaning machine in the mail today and took it for a spin. It WORKS beautifully! I've already cleaned my guns and they look brand new. Thanks Mr. Chung!!! i got mine today, how long it take to get it clean?
ra7c7er Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 This is really cool. I just need to get an airbrush first.
made007 Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 i tried it, but only got out the small dirt, i guess mine was too dirty but i did it several times and it worked better
Dr. Cranky Posted May 8, 2011 Author Posted May 8, 2011 You have to clean it thoroughly first with a brush, etc . . . and then put it in the machine and do about 3-5 rounds. That's what I do . . . and it works . . .
made007 Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 have you tried putting the files in there to clean them?
Dr. Cranky Posted May 12, 2011 Author Posted May 12, 2011 Hum, no I have not but then again my files are not dirty right now . . . but this is a great possibility.
jbwelda Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 hi just saw this thread, i am going to get one of those right now, thanks so much! you do know, you can stick your eyeglasses in there and they will come out sparkling clean, not just the glass but all the mechanisms. its a miracle.
Lownslow Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 what do you use to clean your ABs i was thinking airbrush cleaner and water
jbwelda Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 although you can put some cleaning solution of some kind in there (dishsoap seems to be a near universal choice) its really the water atoms being excited that does the cleaning.
Lownslow Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 didnt work i filled with soap and water then added a container of paint thinner inside that and was like when all the paint came off the airbrush
Dr. Cranky Posted November 28, 2011 Author Posted November 28, 2011 I use Windex, let the parts soak over night after 3-5 rounds of zapping (or whatever it is this thing does) and then 3-5 the next day and my babies come out brand spanking new. I love this thing. Once you have 3-4 ABs it makes the work go faster. I use 2 ABs for acrylics and 2 for lacquers (which of course require cleaning first thoroughly with reducer or cheap lacquer thinner. Glad to see his thread bounce back to the light . . . thanks.
Lownslow Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 it only takes 2 times with the thinner ill post a pic of how i do it
Dave Ambrose Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 A 50-50 mix of Windex and denatured alcohol will strip the acrylic off just about anything. Combining it with the ultrasonic cleaner should do wonders. But, only for acrylics. It doesn't seem to do a thing for either enamels or lacquers. But it will remove any surface contamination.
matador88 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 old idea, but what about loosing fitting of the seals (like built-in badger seals) and other parts fit using this way?
