carchub Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 I'd like to know any good websites that sell detailed tires, any kind really. I tried The Model Car Garage already but they don't even have tires it looks like. Also any sites for good paints or decals, for tires or anything.
ra7c7er Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 what kind of tires are you looking for? Their was a guy advertising in SA a month or two ago that was making dirt track racing tires that were very detailed.

Their was a guy advertising in SA a month or two ago that was making dirt track racing tires that were very detailed. What kind of dirt track racing tires were they do you know? Sounds interesting. At the moment I'm looking for some nice '60's drag slicks and some good Hoosier decals. Edited February 13, 2011 by carchub
Foxer Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 oops .. should have thought of Fred's Fred's Resin Workshop That's THE dirt track racing parts shop and a good chance there may be some Hoosier decals.
carchub Posted February 14, 2011 Author Posted February 14, 2011 (edited) I got another question, it's about liquid masking and where to get them. I was just reading D. Cranky's article in an older copy of Model Cars about the salt-rusting technique, and the only thing I'm missing really is a liquid mask. Just want to know if anyone recommends a certain one, and also any tips on the salt weathering would really help. Thanks Edited February 14, 2011 by carchub
Foxer Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 There are many brands of liquid mask, but I've never used any. You should ask this in it's own thread so everyone sees it. I'm sure you'll get many responses.
ra7c7er Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) Thanks Mike! What kind of dirt track racing tires were they do you know? Sounds interesting. At the moment I'm looking for some nice '60's drag slicks and some good Hoosier decals. Here is the guy. He made Dirt Late Model and Modified rears including new and destroyed tires. They were really interesting looking I have not ordered any but I am seriously considering it. Larry's Resins 32 Adventure Rd. Louisville, KY 40216 502-712-7463 Slixx makes a decal sheet with Hoosier decals on them but you are going to get a bunch of other stuff you don't want. http://www.slixx.com/s1840.htm?id=2217 Edited February 15, 2011 by ra7c7er
