george 53 Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 See guys, THIS is just ONE reason to join a club. Jerry (the guy who mastered the Chrysler Turbine STATION WAGON) Did us ALL a GREAT favor by bringin these little treasures in! They were a nice collection of models!
jeffb Posted February 19, 2011 Author Posted February 19, 2011 ive toyed with the idea of finishing it up and adding visors, but i'll just leave it the way it was done 45 yrs ago

Problem is...it seems all the good clubs are on that side of the states. I'm having a hard time finding one over here.

If you think that you got it bad where you are at,, you oughtta try this area.. land of the dead, the dying and the comotose... AIn't no one in these parts that I know who collects or builds. The nearest club is two hours drive away and it's struggling from what I hear. I sort of feel like Tom Hanks in that movie where he was stranded on a desert island after a plane crash.. when it comes to models, this forum is my coconut that I talk to.. *sighs* No offense against anyone because this coconut responds from time to time when I say something and I am only too glad to have it - it's just the only comparison that I could think of at a moment's notice.
jeffb Posted February 19, 2011 Author Posted February 19, 2011 we do have a great group here. we average 30-40 active members and some meetings we get around 50. plus, theres 4 resin casters in the gang.

I'm only laughing cuz I feel your pain. I need more coconuts too!!
pepperdrumstix Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Great find. I do believe some of these models belong in the National Model Car Museum in Salt Lake City Utah. I think Mark would love to get a few of these real survivors especially if they were built by someone that worked for AMT. Just my 2 cents. Patrick M
george 53 Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Pat, Not only Mark, but quite a few others wouldn't mind haveing ANY of those modeles. Jerry mustave bought about twent five or so and only left with about ten of them. Mostly full on customs. But the ones built stock to semi stock were GONE!!! They were ALL at least 40 years old!!!!
