robdot Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 i just finished munsters koach. i put a black testors enamel on it, and the decals, can i now shoot model masters lacquer clearcoat over it? decals and all? does it really make a difference? thanks
Greg Pugh Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 First, please put your real full name down. It's board rules. Location also helps. Second, although I've yet to clear over decals, that's generally the way it's supposed to be done. I'm sure some others will chime in here. Welcome to the board!
Jantrix Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 I don't know how hot the Model Master Lacquer clear is, but the general rule of thumb is... enamel over lacquers is fine, but lacquer over enamel is risky, I'd try painting your top coat and then your clear on a plastic spoor or spare hood or something to check on compatability.
