My name is Jeff and I am a model-aholic. I started out in model railroading but discovered that I enjoyed building models more than running a railroad. So, I switched to 1/25th scale models. I've built NASCAR stocks, trucks, cars, planes, (and trains) but have always enjoyed building emergency equipment.

The following is one of my "feature builds." This is an entirely resin model as close to a replica of the 2002 Seagrave Engines used by the FDNY, offered by SSB Resins. It's in 1/25th scale and the finished model is over 15" long.

Most of the tread plate is BMF, the interior contains an added laptop, clipboard, helmets, and maps and binders for the buildings in the neighborhood.

Welcome Jeff. Where did you get the hoses from? I have a couple of the Trumpeter ALF's just screaming for some! :)

I've seen shoelaces use as hose load.

As far as the hoses, these are resin parts that come from SSB Resins. They are a great fit for the Seagrave, but also fit the Trumpeter ALF as well. I've used shoelaces, but they tend to be too big (out of scale). Elastic from the sewing department works good, so does bias tape, folded to size.

Yes, doing an ALL RESIN kit was a challenge, because the only thing you can use as glue is Superglue or Epoxy. Tricky or messy, you pick. I went through a lot of superglue and a lot of kicker too.

Most of the diamond plate was done with BMF. Just had to take my time. This kit was probably a 6+ month build.

Thanks, Jeff, I'll have to look into them. I just love the realistic hose ends on them, and also found using shoelaces was a big pain! :D

Awesome work on that firetruck. You should be very proud of that one, it looks fantastic! And it came from resin which makes it even more amazing.
