So I am finally building my dream model and hopefully one day in the future my real dream car. It will have a Edlebrock Engine Dress Up Kit witch includes a new air cleaner, cylinder heads, and intake manifold. I want it in Plum Crazy in real life with a black interior, so I will do the same here. I have a new grille, grille insert, interior tub, bucket seats, and steering wheel coming hopefully tomarrow in the mail.

So I start with this,

My paint is Testors One coat Laquer "Purple-Lisioush"

104_0764.jpg

The Tourqe Thrusts I will use,

Engine work has started,

104_0767.jpg

My air cleaner I found in my parts box,

The major body work. I have spent three weekends sanding, washing, priming, polishing, and filling. I probaly have a lot more to go on the front so thats why that is not primed yet.

you know brandon, you pick the most hated version ever kitted of the charger (if im not mistaking is based of the number two most hated and yet most sold general lee kit) and im afraid that is whats keeping the charger lovers at bay

then again, this is your build and quite frankly, you dont see to many 70 chargers so i think its cool and you should build it however you want

if i can give you a word of advise thoug, rescribe the door panels and maybe ad a little trim line around those wheelwells because it seems you polished it up too good and there is some detail missing ;)

any thoughts on interior colour ?

i really like that blue you picked and i think an off white with wood accents would really make it pop

The tails do need attention, but the door vents were R/T only so he's in the clear there.

I wasn't sure of that Mark, thanks, learn something new everyday.

Im going to do a black interior with wood grain dash. I am also going to correct the taillights and add some trim. Yes i know its a bad kit. I had to deal with my aunt cause I dont have a credit card so she had to buy it for me. I wanted the real restorible one off of evilbay but she wanted the .99 cent on so had to go with that. I hpe my correct parts from the Modelhaus come tomarrow.

Also I would like to thank evrybody on the dream model advise.

Thanks

I am also working with this kit but the kit I am working on is the Dukes Ghost of General Lee kit though that just recent came out this year. They couldn't get this kit correct either not even with the glow part :angry: either. Unless I got a defected kit.

This kit you are building, you will have to add drip rail molding, and also door trim and rear quarter trim as well, then scribe tail light trim out and then also tail end extenions as well. You will also have to make do some trimming for the rear bumper to fit right to the tail end. Then comes the front end  . You might have to e do some trimming there as well depending on mold they used for your shell. But one down side, the fenders are made with the '68 and '69 bumper indents and to a '70 part you will have to either fill those areas in (I would do this) or shave the fenders back alittle (which I wouldn't do).

But I will say this, you can turn this kit into a good looking build if you know how to do certain things right yourself though on it. Like they say, if you get a lemon then make lemon aid

To what I seen of your build so far, I like how you are going at it and doing it. Keep up the good work.

I did it! I wired my first distributer! :D

A mockup of the stuff in place. I hate to tell you but I might have bitten of more than I can chew on this and will probably have to buy a resin body which means MORE waiting.:angry::angry:

There is no rush to finish anything - just take your time and it will work out. Think of all you have already put into this model. Try getting another build going at the same time and work on this one when the mood is right. Keep on working though!

I bought the resin body from Time Machine Resins. Haven't gotten it yet but it is supposed to get here in the next couple weeks. I have heard that it is a really nice kit. It was $40 for everything except the chassis and engine. Here is the link.
