jsimmons Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 I'm just getting back into the hobby after a 21-year break, and thought I'd share some pics of some cars I did WAY back when. I was a member of the San Diego Model Car Club, and each month, the club sponsor would donate a couple models for the members to build. The only deal was that we had to have the model completed before the next meeting, and the model was put on display for a month in the store that donated them. The first three pics are examples of those models (sorry the pictures are so small): Group 88C Toyota (Tamiya, 1/24) Benetton Ford (Tamiya, 1/20) 1970 Boss 302 (Monogram, 1/24) The next one won 3rd Place at an IPMS regional contest: Cobra S/C 427 (Monogram, 1/24) Of course, I was REAL big into NASCAR: #7 Zerex Ford as driven by Alan Kulwicki (Monogram, 1/24, gradient stripes are painted on) #6 Folgers Ford as driven by Mark Martin (Monogram, 1/24) #28 Havoline Ford as driven by Davey Allison (Monogram, 1/24) #6 Stroh Light as driven by Mark Martin (Monogram, 1/24, practice car) #7 ViewPlan T-Bird (Monogram, 1/24, homemade decals representing the company I worked for at the time) be sure to check out Part 2

Danno Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 "22-year old models" This thread did not turn out to be what I expected it would be. Just sayin.'

Sorry it took so long ... but I really was trying to be respectful to your great older builds. It just finally overtook me! Great stuff. Thanks for sharing it with us smart-alecs!
