moparmagiclives Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 THis is going to be my entry into the Revell contest. Its way out of my comfort zone, but I figured "why not". I started by back halfing a lindberg 53 vicki and using it for the box. I like the 53 because its a little rounder and lands itself to the 37 cab pretty nice I think. Here you can get a rough idea where its going. With the cab chopped, sectioned and channeled, I had to bring the "box" down a little bit more to match it. I think I'm going to leave the bed just as a shell over the frame work with the trunk lid open to show it all and the moon tank. Here you can see it coming together a little more with the painted frame. I shortend the frame in the center about 3/8" and set the flathead back about 1/2". I tryed to use the white wall decals, but they would not stay on the tire at all, but I'm starting to dig the black wall and chrome ring look. I have some small chrome center bullets for it to put on latter. I should have more to post in a week or so.
moparmagiclives Posted March 10, 2011 Author Posted March 10, 2011 Thanks Tony.. I've started to assemble the engine, I should be able to get it black washed and wired this weekend I hope. I dropped the box down a little more. I hope the moon tank still fits under. I'm thinking I need to bring the front engine mounts down a smidge also. I think I've stalled on the body work long enough, once the engine is done I guess I bette start on that portion of it. It helps me to stay motivated to see some color on something, so I end up jumping around a bit back and forth. Thanks for looking guys.
Matt T. Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 I like it! Great job on the stance and proportions. Keep at it.
Jon Cole Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Nice work! I am building something similar, and I know how difficult it is to get everything positioned to line up.
Randy D Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Wait a minute!!!! Go back to where you were chopping and channeling PLEASE!! Need more pics of that. Look forward to more on this Shane, great job! Randy
