DRG Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 OK, I open her up and looked at the parts contained in this kit. Seems to be some flash and naturally mold lines to take care off but nothing all that bad. Seems to be a real nice, straight forward kit. This looks like it's going to be fun. Looks like it has real nice detail on the door panels. This one has to be Marina Blue with a Black interior.
Rob Z Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Gonna have to keep an eye on this one to see how well it goes together for you Don, I have the same kit and want to do a replica of a car that my parents had in '66...

Rob that makes me feel old because in 1969 I owned a 66 Chevelle SS! I guess I must be as old as your parents!
crazyjim Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Go for it Don! Hey you know what I did for a black interior? I painted it flat black and rubbed my finger on my forehead to get some body oil and rubbed the seats. They went from flat black to something else - not enough to be semi gloss - but just enough that they weren't flat.
mikemodeler Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 I dug one of these out and have started the priming and planning. I can't decide if I want to build a modern type(pro touring) car or go for a stock replica of a '66 that I used to pass everyday on the way to high school, hoping to save my money for and buy one day! Can't wait to see how you do with this Don, it just might inspire me to get mine done.
