Remember Mikey's horrific crash at Bristol? Search YouTube. I remember them interviewing him in a golf cart on pit road heading to the infield care center and him saying "we might get back out there to run some laps if the car isn't too bad". He obviously hadn't seen the replay! I've never seen a car destroyed like that before or since, and I watch nearly every race that's televised. Someone was watching over him that day.

I don't think it would have made any more laps!

I found those and other pics of the crash while searching one time.

I have seen the remains of that car in person, it's truly a miracle he's alive. To know someone could survive that horrible a crash just blows my mind. The way it is all curled up and shredded away yet his seat area was intact, proves there are angels among us. He's here for a reason !! I have build that kit a couple times myself and I know what a challenge the decals are and you've done a fantastic job !! :P

Thanks ffreak. I built this one several years ago and yes, the decals were a bear. I'd seen the video on youtube but hadn't seen these pictures of the remains. Just incredible!

I remember it vividly, as I was seated on the back stretch when it happened. I remembered hearing a loud "thud", then seeing the pieces slide down the track. You can't imagine how quiet that place became, followed by how loud it got when he stood up. Just an amazing and surreal thing to experience.
