Eric C Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Haven't posted anything here in a while and recently got back into building after a year or so off. Thought I would share one of my recent builds. This is Fujimi's Bruno Senna version of the Ferrari F430 Challenge. Built out of the box, the kit went together well. The red, white and black (on the roof of the car) were all masked and painted. I wasn't going to take a chance on the white kit decals being opaque enough to cover the red. Lot's of little things about the kit are inaccurate but the worst part to me is it should have slick racing tires. Easy enough to change if you want to sacrifice the tires from another kit. Makes a nice shelf model.
David@MinidreamsInc. Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Man i'm not a race car builder brother but this horse here is really nice and has that eye catching paint scheme . NICE JOB!
crispy Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Eric, great to see you back into building. Love this car. I'm still working on my "shark mouth" version. You are certainly correct about the inaccuracies. While the tires are the big glaring one, the rear tail treatment concerning the tail lights is off a bit too. Of course with any race car and race to race some things changed. Great job on masking the curve. I'd bet money the white decal wouldn't have been opaque enough. Looks like after a year you still have the touch. Looking forward to more! Chris
Jon Cole Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Got to love a Ferrari in a wild color scheme. Great job! Painting the white vs. depending on the decals was a good move.
peter31a Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I love seeing builds like this. Great road racing Ferrari! Nice clean build. Can almost hear it blasting away from corner 5 at Mosport!
