Greg Myers Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 At 495 pages and somewhere around $5 you can't go wrong. I've read this one more than once.High Performance: The Culture and Technology of Drag Racing, 1950-2000
Terry Sumner Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Not to mention the excellent front cover photograph of a wrinkle wall slick at rest just prior to launch. It perfectly illustrates how the wrinkles look prior to being subjected to the torque forces of a launch off the line!
gasser59 Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 (edited) This looks like a great reference book. I need to add it to my ever expanding library. Last week, I picked up So-Cal Speed Shop: The Fast Tale of the California Racers Who Made Hot Rod History at 40% off. Another great book. Edited March 26, 2011 by gasser59

I got this book shortly after it was first published, and if you're expecting lots of pictures, you're going to be very disappointed. This is more of a good reading book rather than a picture book. It is very good reading if you're interested in learning about the early years of drag racing, though.
