Naydrus Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 A gentleman that comes to visit my house once a week to work with my fiance about good job hunting skills was here yesterday on his weekly visit. He happened to notice the 1958 Edsel Pacer that Im working on sitting on the mantle to my fireplace, and said "I didnt know you built models." Told him Ive been building for 15 years, and come to find out... he was a modeler as well. Got to talkin, and he mentioned that he had a bunch of stuff sittin around collecting dust, and that he could drop it off here at the house the next day. Well, he held true to his word.... he shows up this morning with a good sized box, and well... Ill let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
Naydrus Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 That it was! Had to get the dremel out, play with it, lol. The airbrush, I know nothing about. I dont know anything about airbrushes actually, aside that Ive always wanted one and have seen what they can do. I think the manufacturer is Cummins? I initally thought of the diesel motor company, but Im like yea, they arent gonna do that. Any info will be greatly appreciated on this item. I really want to start using one, and I need to locate some junk bodies to play with before I dive headfirst into one of my projects.

I don't know if Cummins has anything to do with the diesel engine manufacturer, Cummins Industrial Tools is a travelling tool supplier that goes around selling products wholesale out of tractor trailers. If you have ever heard of Homier Distribution, they also travel around the country and sell out of their trucks, too. I bought an airbrush set from Homier and have never used it yet, either, but for a beginner in the airbrush world, that set should do good for you. By the way, tools like the airbrushes and dremels (I have a cheap one I got at a Homier stop, too) are great for the price IF you don't demand it to do heavy work. I've also bought a few hand tools from them just because I might not have needed them for much while working on a vehicle, and you get what you pay for in that respect. A couple of pieces broke the first time I used them! The mechanic tools from either place STINK!!
Naydrus Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 This stuff was given to me.. so I cant complain. The dremel should hold up to what I will end up using it for.... and the airbrush, well, I need to sit and teach myself how to use it.

They should both be fine, like I said I have dremels and the yet unused airbrush, along with some other tools from these travelling tool distributors, and they get quite regular use. I just wouldn't buy any mechanic tools from them again!
Naydrus Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 Yep. The only hand tools and whatnot I would ever buy is Craftsman, Snap-On, or even some Stanley tools.... always had good work with those.
ra7c7er Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I need someone to drop stuff off at my house. Great score.
