george 53 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Good Luck, John! These large scale builds always take ALOT of creativity to come out right! If anyone can do it, You Da Man!!!!
Dragracer Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 It will no doubt be different. I'll be following this build, like to see how it turns out, from what I've seen of your previous builds this should be a looker.
1320wayne Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Should be interesting John. Don't worry about it being believeable or not. One of the best parts of the pro mod classes is seeing something just a little bit different than what the next guy is running. Just take a peek at some of the European/Australian drag sites and you will see some very interesting body styles selected for competition, including high end Mercedes and BMW's. Heck, if Rick Moore can turn a Lambhorgini Countach into a pro mod (late 80's, early 90's), then what you have planned is not so far-fetched. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
John Teresi Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 Hello......worked on the body today......I got the width and length done......tomorrow I will work on the doors and height ......thank`s for looking.
John Teresi Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 few more body modification progress photo`s......
John Teresi Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 and just a few more......thank`s for looking.
Mooneyzs Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 This is going to be a great build. John can't tell you enough, I enjoy your builds and am sure this is going to look great. its off to a great start.
jeffs396 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 This is gonna be another great one from you John! Cool idea!
Dragracer Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 It looks like a lot of work, but it's coming along really well, enjoying the build, keep up the good work.
Reeves Racing Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Hi John, after seeing this Pro-Mod build and some others I have noticed that the front ends are usually stretched and the body is widened. I live in Kansas so I have only seen the NHRA Summer Nationals in Topeka and they don’t run the Pro-Mods at that event so I have never seen them in person. My question is, are they a set wheel base and width per the rules? It seems like a lot of body mods are needed to make an accurate representation of one of these cars. This going to be a gorgeous car, the XKE looks good as any type of race car.
Dragracer Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 From what I've seen of the rules for the P/M type car (I say P/M type because the ADRL does not use the Pro-Mod moniker,Pro-Extreme for blown cars & Pro-Nitrous for nitrous cars),both racing bodies rules are same up to certain points, the wheelbase is the same: min.100" max.115" (for cars, trucks are longer)width is also the same: 2" either way, both allow a front overhang of 45"'s from center of wheel to tip of the nose with a approved extension if the front doesn't make it to 45".
John Teresi Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 Hello.......I did a little work on the body today........worked on the height and the doors.......tomorrow I will work on the skirts and the wheel wells and the wing......thank`s for looking

Mooneyzs Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 John, That body is coming together nice. Love the work you have done so far. Keep up the good work.
Dragracer Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 The Jag looks like it's coming along nicely, like the way the body is looking, waiting for more!
John Teresi Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) Hello.......a little work on the back hatch and wing.......simple mock-up......nothing permanent........I`m sure to be making all kinds of changes.......thank`s for looking. Edited April 13, 2011 by John Teresi
Dragracer Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 It's looking good John, I like the rear Daisy wheels, are you gonna use them or are they for the mock-up only?
John Teresi Posted April 15, 2011 Author Posted April 15, 2011 (edited) Hello......the body is just about ready for primmer........a little tweak here and there .......a little straightening and sanding........I left the skirts a little long ......I will adjust them when I build the chassis......I know she looks ugly now......but,I think she will look good when I am done........thank`s for looking. Edited April 15, 2011 by John Teresi
Harry P. Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Amazing work! The body mods alone are a work of art. This is going to be really good!
Dragracer Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I have to admit, I wasn't too sure about this build, I liked it, but wasn't crazy about it, now tho you have made me change my mind (to the lite side!), this car is coming along great! really enjoying it John! keep it up!
Dragline Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Jon, your mind is warped.... IN A GOOD WAY. I'm loving this build. Bob
