Guys,

Just wanted to take a break from this monster, and post a few updated pictures. Lots of custom fabricated parts (Bendix Air dryer) for example.

19 1/2" Ti-Brook/Trail King aluminum body in progress. A Detroit Series 60 engine is on the way..and Tires from Jamie (Mo-Luminum)..fantastic detail(s).

Nice weather is upon us , Happy building to all. Comments good or bad are always welcomed. Thanks

Kurt,

This is excellent. The details are really superb. The hydraulic tank and the diesel tank look transparent, have you made these yourself or are they bought in items? The small vertical cylinder mounted to the frame rail in between the two tanks is this a lubrication unit?

Good Luck with the rest of the build. Very impressive.

Dave,

The Fuel and hydraulic tank(s) are the original tanks that come with the Revell kit..they were de-chromed and cut down (centers removed along with the end pieces and repositioned) Seams were then filled in.

The small cylinder you see between the tanks is the scratch built (Bendix Air line dryer)...a couple of hours in on that one.

She is a fun build so far...Thank you for your thoughts. Kurt

Kurt,

That thing is looking really good! Love the scratch building. As I have gotten back into the hobby and have seen alot of scratchbuilding going on, I have tried a few things myself and rather enjoy it. They only problem with that is, after I put one detail on and sit back and admire it, I say to myself, geeze, that would look good on it too, and next thing you know I'm crafting! It's never ending....:)With some of your scratch building on yours, it's really bringing it to life with details! Very nice work and 2 thumbs up!!

Just a "little" update. Made some progress on the "Ti-Brook" Dump body..like any custom project...it has been modified along the way...Still has a long way to go, until a finished product.....what a monster this one is turning out to be.

Happy Easter to all.

Kurt,

This is superb! The photo makes it look like a real truck in the workshops for a major overhaul/restoration. "Monster" is a suitable description.

Guy's....

Just wanted to post a picture or two of the AKA (Petermonster) as some call it..The bed is progressing nicely..lots of detail/lots of work to finish..the tailgate should be on by this weekend..the hydraulics started...

A couple of recent acquisitions, will take this piece into several new directions..motor/cab/hood etc...always thinking "too" much ahead...

Thank you to everyone's comments...I'll post a picture or two in the next couple of weeks after some more major work has been completed..

Thoughts and prayers to all at Virginia Tech.

By the way turbo, the reason I called it the petermonster is because of a similar truck that was owned by a friend. Big triaxle pete with a big dump body like this one. The more progress I saw, it reminded me of that truck. That's what we nicknamed it. It had a pic of a large cat looking like it was clawing its way thru the metal on the hood, and this truck was pretty big. Hence the name. CAT powered of course. Brought back some good memories.
