I'd like to know if there is a way to shut off the animated avatars. I've looked at the forum settings, and have been unable to find a way to do so. I know many web pages allow one to right-click on animated images or streaming videos and disable them, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Currently, my solution is to hold my left hand over that portion of the screen so I can read the text.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Your best bet is if you're using mozilla firefox browser, is to use a free add-on from there add-on website called "ad block" I can rightclick any add or picture and block it, and I wont have a problem with it anymore.

Works well on forums that have a model of the month picture plastered at the top of the header every time you click a topic

If you keep disliking explorer more and more, why not step to another browser, there are plenty out there.

Upper right corner..dropdown under your name and click "My Settings"

go right 1 space to "Forums"

You will see this:

Board Display Settings

• View members' signatures when reading topics?
• View images in posts, such as smilies and posted images?
• View members' avatars when reading topics?

the last box is your escape!!

The work related sites I need to use only support Explorer, and I'm not inclined to use multiple browsers. Explorer's not all that bad, it's just annoying sometimes.
