jeff ewaskey Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 It seems to me that this build is the product of a highly active imagination and is a perfect example of automotive overkill and "I LOVE IT!" The metallic in that green color really pops and is gonna look awesome. Keep it comin!
boohoo Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Thanks man, the car was a 2001 MG ZR, as you can probaly tell by the pic i was in the middle of fitting the new engine when that pic was taken. hi nice model and you said on another forum your mg zr was a rover 25 from what i seen it was a 25 not a zr
diymirage Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 looking good man now, ill be the last eprson to tell you not to use decals but to be honoust...with the green basecoat you have there i think it would look classy the way it is if you ad decals to it...i dont know it would look like a morgan with decals know what i mean ?
Deckerz Posted April 28, 2011 Author Posted April 28, 2011 (edited) nhrafan - Thanks man haha, i love overkill boohoo - Thanks man. Yeah i thought it was a 25 at first but after looking at the cars details i got from my dad when i went to sell it, it said it a ZR so im thinking whoever had it before just switched the trim, either way its the same car just with a rover badge instead of MG. diymirage - yh i know what you mean, il see what it looks like when its painted then decide but i think your right, although, the rollcage is going to be the same colour as the body because thats how the rally cars are usually painted so maybe a couple sneeky decals on the cage? some of the decals on the design come with the kit but they are so thin, the tear so eaisly so im going to have to find a way to transfer the ford and focus decals without ripping them :S edit : these are the decals that come with the kit.... Deckerz Posted April 28, 2011 Author Posted April 28, 2011 (edited) i was wanting to get a set of the f50 decals just to see what i could use from the sheet, just suttle details. So work has started on the interior, got a few mist coats on the rollcage and door cards, im thinking on the door cards, in between the rollcage either silver, gloss black or semi gloss black, something that will match the dash which will be painted in CF effect. the chassis will be painted the green too, underside will be silver, i need to get some styrene sheet to make the engine housing on the chassis but funds are low right now so i guess il have to try find a alternetive material around the house. Edit: So i want to give you guys some of what you want to see so heres a re-design, got the spoiler correct, colour more accurate and only one decal which is a ferrari badge, what do you think? Deckerz Posted April 30, 2011 Author Posted April 30, 2011 OK guys, not much progress, just putty work which is really starting to annoy me now but its got to be done. I assembled the cage with PVA glue and set it under the body just to see what it would look like, the inside of the body is going to be silver so should the door cards also be silver inbetween the roll cage or should they be black to go with the CF dash?
Deckerz Posted May 6, 2011 Author Posted May 6, 2011 Got a wet coat on the cage and door cards, one more then thats them done and i can start preping the chassis, the body is still being tempermental, so more and more putty, should pay off though. I think i accidently sent one of the kits seats a while back with a kit i sold so i only had one, these are the kits seats.... I had a search through one of my parts boxes and found some seats that will look alot better in this kit, will have to sand the moulded harness, they sit perfectly on the original seat mounts, don't worry the drivers seat is suppost to sit higher then the passenger. Sorry for the bluryness, my camera isn't focusing for some reason.
