Modlbldr Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I got a bit of paint overspray on my tires and need to remove it. What's the best way without damaging the tires? The tires are Pegasus and the paint is either Tamiya rattlecan or Testors rattlecan Boyds Pacific blue. Not sure which cause they're pretty close to the same color. Thanks for your help. Later-
Modlbldr Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 Thanks guys. I'll try those out. Just wasn't sure if thinner would hurt them or not. Later-
DRG Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 or you could make a little sign to sit next to the model. Painted by Earl Scheib, Inc
Modlbldr Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 That's cute. I had ONE (notice, ONE) of their paint jobs years ago when I was young and broke. Not much has changed, except that I'm older. I used the paint thinner and a rag earlier today and it worked beautifully. Now, I'll go out to the hobby dungeon and they'll be a sopping puddle of goo on my desk. Just kidding. They're fine. Now if I can get the rest of tonight's work done without one step forward and two steps back..... Later-

pepperdrumstix Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Ron that's funny. I had a friend that had his Ford truck painted by them and they even painted the rocks and debris in the truck bed. He forgot to tape over the chrome trim on the tail-gate and they painted that too. All for only $39.99. Sounds like when I paint a model car. You can tell I have both a cat and dogs by the hair in the paint jobs. Glad the paint came off the tires modlbuldr and it could have been worse. I know. Been there and did it. Got the paint spattered T shirts to prove it. Patrick
MikeMc Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I might of suggested dipping a old toothbrush in some 70% alcohol let the excess drip off the brush and a soft rub, it will be gone. DO NOT wash the tire...soft brush....soft scrub will also work, but tends to leave a white crud.
