My stepdad used to build models back in the day and when I get kits he always takes a look at them. He came over today and I showed him the Model King Racers Wedge and Trailer parts pack. He held it for a second and looked at the racers wedge and said:

"This is cool, I wish they sold this {the wedge) separately back when I was building instead of having to get that ratty dual axle chevy. It comes with the trailer too? oh man. I built the camper model it had 69 chevy with it, I think. Weren't the two kits made my different companies MPC and AMT right? They were 1/25th scale that's how I remember. When I bought kits I always got the 1/25th scale ones because the a lot of the 1/24th models were to big to fit on the shelf in my room".

I was wowed by the fact that he remembered the original kits. Then he told me why every single truck kit I own wouldn't work for the wedge, lol.

His and his brothers models are still stored in Oregon in a barn on his parents property and he told me next time he makes a trip up there he will get them for me. I can't wait to see them.

I figure a few more trips to my house and he will probably get the urge to build something himself. He has already offered to help me build a display case.

Very cool; I hope he does get back into welding some styrene together again! It's never too late. You have to post pictures when he brings the old models back.

Well my dad is 79 years old and he still builds models once and awile as long he don`t have to much on his do list from my mom. I get him to paint some of my models he does a good job painting by brush.
