Crazy Ed Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 All of us that have out of production kits have at one time or another come across a price sticker that qualified as "WHERE WAS I WHEN ........... - I would have bought them out" or at least "That SURE isn't what I paid" Well I've got a few, but here's my favorite Yep, that's $0.99. "Ah Excuse me sir you only have 10 on the shelf. Are there any more in the backroom? And if so can I help you haul then to the Cash Register?" Ed
robertw Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 I thought I was the only one who looked at price stickers and went into remembrance mode. In some cases it's looking at '60's or 70's purchase price then realizing what the same reissue is selling for today and other times it is being reminded of old shops now long gone and other times its looking at a sticker and being reminded of where the kit was found in some unexpected store or during some trip many years ago. Maybe this is something that only makes sense to "old timer" modellers. robw
ra7c7er Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 I don't have any photos but I have a MPC Pontiac Fiero kit that has a 4.67 sticker from a local hobby shop that closed about 20 years ago. I also had some kits that had Kay-Be toy clearance stickers for $0.99 and a few clearance Walmart stickers.
Crazy Ed Posted April 16, 2011 Author Posted April 16, 2011 (edited) What does the Lola go for now days? Generally around $40 - 50. Although several years ago I saw one go for >$140 on e-bay. But then on the right day you could probably get $500 for the recipe for Fried Ice and Whipped Air Pudding My Fathers Mothers Dinner for bad Grandchilderen Ed Edited April 16, 2011 by Crazy Ed
