Mr. Can Am Garage Posted May 3, 2011 Author Posted May 3, 2011 These are some of the options I am looking at for my kit when I actually get a hold of one of these kits! Considered a D/R truck myself and I've got a friend who use to drive Express for SGT from their HQ to Toronto.
Danno Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Should have mine next Wednesday ... if my plastic pusher is down on the corner.
RodneyBad Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 I problely won't get around to building one but I did order one thru one of my LHS for $50 The kit looked sooo good, I had to get one to play with and play with I will.
ewaskew Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 My five will be here Saturday. Going to be fun to build. First one will be box stock with a revell beal tanker.
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted May 4, 2011 Author Posted May 4, 2011 The last time I showed you any exterior progress, I'd shot the first of three colours on the truck. Colour #2 Colour #3. The full monte.
irhill Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Newbie here and i just gotta say that paint sure looks "CANADIAN NATIONAL"

Mr. Can Am Garage Posted May 5, 2011 Author Posted May 5, 2011 Newbie here and i just gotta say that paint sure looks "CANADIAN NATIONAL" That's the idea. If you're an owner/operator who wants to haul trailer for CN Rail, this is the scheme you must paint your truck. I've seen quite a few but no LoneStars yet.
Kostas Parchas Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Very cool!!! Love it!!! Can't wait any more, hope we soon get some of these kits here in Greece. Kostas.
BigBad Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Ahhhh MAN! This is lookin' real good! I was thinking of doing the CN paint scheme on an Italeri Western Star. Now I know I'll do it! Wow this looks real good on your Loner. Keep it up and keep us posted!
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted May 5, 2011 Author Posted May 5, 2011 I'm glad you guys are enjoying this build as much as I am. On to the partially completed interior. While the flocking didn't come in the box, the laminate flooring decal sure did and it's beautiful! The kit comes with three decals for the I.P. but I think I can do the switches and etc. at least as well so I'm not going to use the third. The kit provides decals for all the wood trim including that little panel in front of the driver's side window. There's only so many hours in a day if you're wondering why the rest of the wood decals aren't on yet.
mackinac359 Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Comparing John's build (and the kit I just got in today) to the test-shot I built in December - there are small but noticeable differences. The interior has more texture - carpet on the floor for example is on the plastic (not as bold as the flocking) but wasn't on the test shot. The exhaust shields have engraved vent/mesh, the test shot didn't. This really is a nice kit. John, yours is looking sweet! Tim
evilone Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 hmm this maybe something worth buying. i see a awesome custom in the ruff with this kit.

Mr. Can Am Garage Posted May 6, 2011 Author Posted May 6, 2011 The finished dashboard. I still need to put the decals on the steering wheel. The cabinets with their woodgrain decals installed.
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted May 7, 2011 Author Posted May 7, 2011 Finished the dashboard. Finished the interior. Polished the black and then shot on a coat of Tamiya clear.
