Got it in the stash to build soon, for a diorama project. Besides needing to be a two pbay station to be accurate for it's era, it is too small dimensionally overall to be accurate. But, all is not lost!!! Click on rhe following link to get a free set of dimensionally accurate drawings & plans to build it properly, along with an authentic sevice station blueprint:

Accessories for it can be found at Scale Modeling By Chris or Scale Equipment Ltd.

Here are their respective links:

http://www.seltd.net/

Those two sites should provide any additional pieces you need, from soda machines, to shop equipment & rest room fixtures, to candy dispensers.

Thanks for the info Bluesman, as I'll save it for when I'm ready to build it.

I have one kinda/sorta/halfway built. It goes together pretty easily, but you're on your own as fars as furnishings and the majority of the tools and equipment go.

I am glad it's reissued. Hopefully I don't sleep through this go-round too...

You better wake up then Mark!! B) I don't know if it is still available or not, but I know the Joe's reissue I have I bought at least three or four years ago, and I haven't seen it in the hobby shops here since.

Yes, I built it , or should I say re constructed it . Heck, it aint worth anywhere near what it retails for . You don't even get four walls . The pumps are a scale foot too tall and they are a poor rendition of a Wayne 600. I'm also suprised no one especially one who this station was given an exclusive to :

Built from Foam Core

The biggest problem I found with the kit is that done in styrene, the walls are WAY too thin--Ed's idea makes sense, foamcore is much thicker, 1/4" foamcore makes for a 6" thick wall, which with the styrene exterior, makes for 8" thick concrete block.

The "missing" back wall can be easily fabricated, details such as the gas pumps can be modified to correct height, or replaced with aftermarket units. But, like any model kit, pretty much no way to add all the tools and equipment to the kit upfront, and make the price palatable.

Using the links Mark supplied, it seems to me you would be able to build a much more realistic version by forgetting the kit and scratchbuilding it.

I have one in the works, too. Actually, mine is 2 of them spliced together, and will be a 3 bay shop when it's done. Like Art and Ed pointed out, the wall are too thin. I'm adding thickness to mine as well, but I'm using brick sheet as I'm doing up as a brick building. Not following any specific plan, it's loosely based on my Uncles Gulf station in Marrietta GA. His has a 7 bay shop, though. Tools and other equipment are a mix of Fujimi tool kits, Scale Equipment, assorted resin peices I picked at the last model show I went to, and lots of leftover goodies from the older kits in my stash.

If I had it to do over, I would have built it from scratch, though.
