I just bought a set of Hobby Design wire wheels 1/24 for the Ferrari TR250. The assembly instructions are rather simple and vague. They weren't cheap, is anyone familiar with assembling them?

What I'm wanting to know is, are the spokes supposed to be formed in a conical shape? The instructions show them installed flat. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated,Thanks.

I've used these on a 62 ferrari 250 GTO and they are awesome. The instructions tell you that there is a spacer in the center of the wheel that you will add two spokes on one end at a time. You will need to put these on-top of each other, facing in opposite directions to get that spoke look. Once you have these super-glued, then do the other side the same way making sure to face the spokes in opposite directions from one another for that 3D look. Once these are dry then slide the whole assembly into the wheel and glue into place. There should be a center cap that you will add on after you have them glued onto the chassis, or at final assembly.post-8052-0-65382300-1303932651_thumb.jp

Thanks for the reply Matt. So you're saying to just layer them all flat and staggered even the 5th set of spokes in the back? You're wheels look great. I asked this question on another forum and the answer and opinion of these wheels was discouraging. These wheels and photo etch seem to be of high quality, they even include machined valve stems. I haven't decided what kit I'm going to use them yet.

Thanks, Yep, As these are going to have a speration in the center you will have two up front and the rest in the back. Stagger all spokes so that they don't line up with one another. I used {Pro-tech valve stems because the ones that come with these wheels require you to drill the rim to fit. These rims are waaay too tough to drill with a hand drill. Pro-tech stems are flat on one end and are easy to place and install. These wheels are very nice and will look great on any car you put them on. There's those machined wheel standoffs that comes with the wheel kit. I never used those because it would have made the wheels stick out too far. That's about all the info I have on these. I have some factory hiro GTO 250 wheels wheels that are just amazing that I'm going to use on another 62 Ferrari. I just have too many projects going on right now to do anthing with them.

Good luck with your build.

Thanks again Matt, I appreciate the help. I was looking at the wheels your right they are hard , stainless I think. The Protech valve stems are easier to use. I'll save the HD stems for some plastic wheels. By the way, did those Avon tires come with your Ferrari kit? I have the Revell 250 GTO and the kit tires look like 4x4 mud tires.

I used the tires from the Fujimi kit because the tires in the revell kit are like 4x4 mud tires. I actually threw those away because I would never use them on anything. Since I bought the factory Hiro wheels and tires for the Fujimi kit I could use them on my Ferrari.
