No, no, no! Order; disorder; the border. The border's more secure than ever! :D

Used to be, but not enforced any more. So, don't sweat it.

:)

Yes, real name is the rule, and always has been. And I have several HUNDRED PMs asking people to put their real names in their signature to prove that the rule is still enforced. And I suggest you put yours back. There are a small handful of wise guys who refuse to put their real name in their signature, mostly for no good reason at all... and they have been given forum "vacations."

And before some smart guy replies that he sees some people who don't have their real name in their signature, the answer is A: New people join all the time and apparently nobody reads the forum rules that they all supposedly agreed to when they signed up, and B: I can't possibly go after every single person because I'm not logged on here 24/7/365. I send them a PM whenever I see another one who's not following the rules.

BTW... for all of you who joined up and agreed to follow the rules but never bothered to read the rules before agreeing to follow them:

Once your account has been activated you can log in to the forum and start posting. Please remember to follow these basic Forum rules:

1) No vulgar language. This board was created for modelers of all ages and offensive language is completely unacceptable.

2) Demeaning comments will not be tolerated. We believe that encouraging and/or constructive criticism can help, but putting a person down does not accomplish anything for the community.

3) If you choose to use a handle or user name that is not your proper name, then please put your full name in the signature box found in the Profile section of your account under Profile.

I can make the type even bigger for any of you that still don't get it.

I dunno if you're calling me a 'smart guy' or a 'wise guy.'

But I'm no dumb guy.

Sorry if the poke caught you squarely in the eye. I shouldn't have used a nine iron. :D

Doctor Cranky = Mad Styrenist & Chief CRANKYHEAD

EYEGORE = Faithful, bug-eyed, curved-back assistant to the Good Doctor

OTTO = Frau Blucher's husband and regular shop keepter, idiot savant

Mrs. CRANKY = Out shopping for Scrapple

AND a few others, like BLIND OLD VIOLIN player who soothes and calms the spirit of most Lab-RAT-ory CREATIONS.

My Real name is Darin Bastedo. I can provide my birth certificate to prove it, but I can't get the long form one. I guess it doesn't matter people would just say I faked it anyway.

I wish we had partied together back in my wild youth! Wait... maybe we did? Who knows... so many blurs.

Harry,I think you do a fine job as far as it can go. I would suggest the 3 Strikes rule.On the first warning, put the offender on moderation.on the second, ban them. There is no 3rd strike!!

Many people think that quantity usurps quality.I don't. While it would be great to be a part of a forum with thousands of members,I'd rather be involved with a smaller group that is civil, and knows how to behave and follow the rules.

Actually I'm a little more lenient. I give them three PM warnings. If no action after the third "reminder" they get a free one-week forum vacation. If they come back from vacation and STILL refuse to tell us who they really are, I'll let Gregg know, and he can then do what he thinks is appropriate.

After all, Gregg made the rules. So I figure Gregg should be the one who ultimately decides what to do with those people. But so far we've had only a handful of people who flat-out refused to tell us their name, and several of those people are already gone from here. The rest of them I'm trying to chase down as best I can.

Let me ask this:

Is our full name Required Both in the Signature And where it asks for your full name (under the Avatar)?

Because If I try to add it to my Signature line - it errors out. Basically, I cannot edit my Signature due to that - & trust me, I've tried & tried & tried (Dave Ambrose & I cave been communicating on this)

Same here. :)

As a child, when I was learning how to write my name my father made me write it 500 times.

Most of it was scribbles to be honest.

I had to redo that 500 times with this thought firmly planted in my mind.

Your signature is who you are to others. Write it as if you are proud of who you are, what you believe in and stand for.

To-day I have a very neat and legible hand writing even though I am left handed.

Harry, I am not trying to get around the rule. But if you put your name in the profile and it comes up under your avatar when you post do you still have to have it in your signature? I mean even thought the rule said have your name in your signature I take that to mean just in your post and for me it is. Right on the left where it says full name. I don't really get why you have to have your name in the signature when it has a place already.

Also for many users it won't let you edit your sig (that is my problem). So i either stick with what I have or erase it completely.

You can have it either there under your avatar, or in your signature line. Doesn't matter which.

And of course, if your screen name is your real name, like with a lot of you, you're already good to go.

Lefty here, too.

You know what they say... left-handed people are out of their right minds... :)

If I used the old Gaelic spelling of my last name no one could begin to pronounce it. G-R-A-Y is extremely close............. Thank goodness it changed a couple centuries ago to what it is now.

Like Mr Donald R Gardner, I am proud of my signature, that's who I AM.
