scalenut Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Can someone point me in the direction of a bullet grill tutorial or something of the sort...thanks I searched google and it pulled up a grill with bullet-like segments added to the front of it.. maybe just glue bullets to the front like they are coming out of the grill ?
gdawgz_3 Posted May 6, 2011 Author Posted May 6, 2011 Sorry, its supposed to be "billet" not "bullet"...auto correct on my phone always screws things up! Ok, what I'm building is the 69 shelby gt500 and I want to put a billet grill in it like the one Eleanor has of Gone in 60 Seconds, just wondering if anyone has any info on how go make one...

rhs856 Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 @Wheelman (or anyone that knows) What is that hideously-beautiful pink monstrosity pictured above?
sjordan2 Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Yat Ming makes a 1/24 diecast Eleanor. You might be able to rob it for parts. http://www.spencer1984.com/serendipity/index.php?url=archives/414-124-Eleanor-Diecast.html&serendipity[cview]=linear

Guest Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Billet grilles are fairly easy to make. Each model and grille is different, so unless you could find a tutorial on building a Mustang grille, you're pretty much outta luck. Just think about how a real grille would be made and go from there. The best way to learn is to apply your ideas. Get yourself some .010-.020 styrene and some 1/16 rod and the rest will come to you.
diymirage Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 read and learn buddy http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=32690&st=0&p=327223&hl=grill&fromsearch=1&#entry327223
diymirage Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Wow just what I was lookin for! Thanks a ton hey, its what the forum is for but if you really want to thank someone thank the guy who wrote it
Skydime Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 (edited) That's a great tutorial...it looks pretty similar to one offing a 1:1 grille. Edited May 12, 2011 by Skydime

Tires are out of scale and lacks detail. Now if Franklin Mint or Danbury Mint ever produced one i'd buy it.
