Evil Appetite Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Sort of ironic...i was finishing up my 41 SW&C Willys dragster no more than an hour ago, getting the PE grill in. I hadn't noticed the toothpick with CA glue sticking to my wrist until I put the body down and moved my hand over it. I tried to grab it before the inevitable happened ..the toothpick dropped off of my wrist, and landed on the roof Ah well!
Corvette.Jeff Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 hahahaha, i think weve all been there a time or two!
highway Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Ok, I never sat in glue (yet ), but I have had quite a few cases where a part liked me more than the model it was to go on! The earliest I can remember is a 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP I was working on, and I think the first front wheel drive car I had ever built. I was in the final part of the built, following the instructions (something I don't do now ) and trying to glue the little round engine mount between the engine and where it mounted to the front radiator wall. I tried probably half a dozen times, and each time it stayed stuck to my fingers instead, then finally on the last try, it went flying across the room! I never did find that part after that!
ra7c7er Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I think they got that after spying on me. I have never sat in glue but I did accidentally smash a glue tube after getting frustrated. That was a mess to clean up.
Nick Notarangelo Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 When I was running the hobbyshop,I had a customer get the large bottle of zap-a-gap and that night cut the top off and promply spill the glue right down on the happy area. Needless to say after a trip to the hospital to have his pants surgically removed he never did that again.

ffreak Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 This reminds me of a time my son and I were on a road trip to a hobby shop in Atlanta. I was following an 18 wheeler, who ran over a VERY large gator tail and threw it up onto my front bumper, hood and roof. Of course this made a lot of noise and scared you know what outa me !! Well in the reaction to this I gritted my teeth, which caused one of my false teeth to break off !!!! Upon gathering my senses back, I took the next exit off the interstate to a quickie mart to examine the damage and purchase some superglue to fix my tooth. Well, in the ensuing haste, I had laid the superglue on the top of my leg after the repair, never to think of it again, that is untill I tried to exit the vehicle upon our arrival !!! My leg was glued to the nice cloth of my brand new vehicle with the black stripe across the hood also !! ARRRGGGHHHH..... a bad day all around !!!
evilone Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 reminds me of my two attempts of builing revell's enzo ferrari
