Ajay Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I hadn't planned on getting one of these but happened to see one on E-bay so thought I might as well have a go at it. There's been posts on various forums pointing out the fitment issues so inview of this I decided to glue the hood shut & build it kerbside. The rims are Aoshma Luxy type 3 with Racing Hart trim rings & Revell tuner series tyres. The body has been sprayed with VW Brilliant Orange and the Yenko decals were left overs from the Revell 69 kit - It still needs clearcoating. Sorry for the poor quality of the 2nd pic taken late @ night - thanks for looking Andy
Steve H. Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I've seen another with Yenko stripes, but I really like where you placed your side stripe. That fits the shape of the car very well. Again with the similiarities... My Camaro project in Tamiya Bright orange... I'll stop mentioning that, now...
Modellpularn Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 How come so many of these models have been painted orange or some similar shade? I've got one, but I'm not sure what color it's going to be. Played around with blue, like Sunoco....
Shawn Tillotson Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Well you beat me to it! Mine is still in the primer stage (trying to get rid of the many sinkholes) to then be followed by Daytona Yellow with the same Yenko stripes. Glad to see the decals fit, looks awesome and love the color.
Randy Kern Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Another cool Camaro in the works, Andy. I also like your placement of the Yenko stripes. I went higher with mine, and ran them above the front wheelwell. Looking good, can't wait to see it done.
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 How come so many of these models have been painted orange or some similar shade? Just like the original, orange is a natural color choice.
Ajay Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 How come so many of these models have been painted orange or some similar shade? I've got one, but I'm not sure what color it's going to be. Played around with blue, like Sunoco.... Hi Hans I was limited in choice as I only had the black stripes left so it had to be a light colour. Cheers Andy
Ajay Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 Just a quick update - clearcoat's been polished out & most of the exterior details fitted: Thanks for looking Andy
