wreckless666 Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 im building this for a diorama i started last night. i originally pulled out the body to try some new rust techniques and i ended up liking the way it turned out so i figured what the hell why not put it to use. its gonna be a half built race car with a roll cage and stripped interior. there will be no motor in this. i want it to look as if somebody bought it and started making a race car out of it then gave up and let it sit in the yard to rot away. i painted my own rust then went back and washed it with some pastels. its my first time using pastels.
Space Cowboy Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Body rust looks good keep us posted...................
wreckless666 Posted May 13, 2011 Author Posted May 13, 2011 got a bit more done on the car but ive been more focused on the dio. i built the roll cage and threw some random car parts inside. dirtied the engine bay i also found a half built motor in the parts box that i dirtied up and out in it. i think the motor is still to shiny and i still have to add some dirt and grim to the wheels let me know what you guys think so far and also check out how the dio is coming along
Tumbler75 Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Very well done! It looks like some of the relics that are sittin' around here in my hood from the days of dirt track racin' at Memphis Motorsports Park! Keep up the great work!
wreckless666 Posted May 19, 2011 Author Posted May 19, 2011 i have this posted in the diorama section but maybe posting here as well, will get it a bit more coverage. this is the first real diorama i built. i tried my best to make it realistic. enjoy
randx0 Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 I like it nice weathering on the car and and everything else I think the fence could use a little more age though.
Dr. Cranky Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Wonderful details. You are building quite a scene there. Very nice. Love it.
