  1. looks good. i bought one of these a few weeks ago really cheap. like 8 bucks. i cant wait to get it started
  2. i know its kinda late but i would like to get in on this build. i have an amt 66 nova pro street ill use
  3. since my pictures were kinda blurry the first time, last night i took a few more sorry the lighting isnt that great. i took these in my house under a house lamp. hope you guys enjoy these pictures more.
  4. thanks guys. jose i guess you can call it a diorama. its something that was made in just a few minutes to take pictures outside. all it is, is a thin piece of wood painted black. i drew some track lines and skid marks with some pastels i have. very simple yet it gets the job done
  5. looks like a beater. i love it. ive never done the weathering technique youve done but i might have to try it now. it came out awesome. it almost looks real well done james
  6. just finished up this fujimi evo 6 a few nights ago. just got around to snappin pics of it now. i enjoyed building it. its a very basic kit and goes together well. the look i was after
  7. looks good luis. loving the dash and the rear tow ring
  8. did alot of sanding last night to get the body ready for paint. got a few coats of paint on it already. still needs another coat or two then gotta paint up the trim. i also opened the holes for the seat belts on both front seats. also got rid of all the mold lines on both seats note. in the picture only one seat is done i also got the interior and dash sprayed flat black.
  9. i just recently started sanding the entire body on my models instead of just doing mold lines and moving on with it. the way you mentioned above is exactly what i found works me as well.
  10. there is no such thing as an acrylic enamel, you have either or. enamel paints wont dry on the tires, they need to be done in acrylic paint. there is no such thing as an acrylic enamel, you have either or. enamel paints wont dry on the tires, they need to be done in acrylic paint.
  11. this is just a quick build i might build a small diorama for. im starting with the fujimi evo 6 mk sport. i may use some of the decals but this is pretty much gonna be like a stock jdm evo. real simple kit. has about 60 or 70 pieces in the box. box art this is what its gonna look like i started off with the chassis and wheels. wheels are sprayed gloss black i opened the side vent in the hood and also the holes in the lip. i also went with the optional wing. quick mock up before i put the wing on her
  12. thanks bud. i finished it a few days ago. its in the finished section. as far as ic pipe wrap, ive read online in a few car forums about it. as far as i know its insulation and keeps it from getting hot. i dont know if heat wrap is the same as header wrap but thats what most poeple seem to be doing IRL. i could be wrong though. i think it looks cool though.
  13. yes sir. i think you should get one of these. my favorite model ive build so far
  14. thanks guys. the r32 is my favorite skyline so i had to build it. i had a lot of fun with this one disco, do it up im looking forward to seeing what your buddys r32 looked like
  15. thats exactly what ive been using since i got back into the hobby. for 99¢ you cant beat it. i personally love it and use the flat black on most of my models. the only colors i really use from that brand is flat black and primer grey. but i do have the red, green, gloss black, gloss white and dark blue colors they put out
  16. i dont have a decent camera to take good pics. but i have found these on various model car forums. the quailty isnt too bad. the turbos are small and dont look great and there is no intercooler piping. i still think its worth buying a skyline kit with a motor. heres the pictures i found piping added this guy added the IC piping adding the piping is easy to do
  17. just finished up a few hours ago. let the decals dry and took some pictures. this was my first foreign kit i built and i loved it. some people told me not to build it this way since it was a discontinued kit and hard to find in the us but im very happy with the way it turned out. favorite thing about these jap kits are the poseable steering. wish the american kits came like that. sorry for the bad quality pictures. did this up real quick with some pastels on a crappy sheet of wood. its nice for some pictures and made this look something from a cartoon. thought it look pretty cool drifting with my next two builds (evo6.98sti)
  18. painted the exhaust, installed it and weathered the chassis some more. the chassis is complete along with the interior. all thats left is window and the head lamps and tail lamps, side mirrors and a few decals. front ride height rear ride height i was gonna paint this car red but i chose flat black instead. i want this car to have that amature diy drifting feel to it. i was gonna add a little damage to the car but i decided to keep it clean. this is the drivers new drift car so its fresh any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. this is my first drift build and i would like to know how i can do it better next time around Brandon
  19. i have the interior pretty much finished, i didnt wanna put too much detail into it so i didnt wire anything inside. i know it would look better but as of right now i can do without it. maybe ill go back and do it later. i also decided to go with the kit rims and tires. just sanded the tires a little thinner in the front. i used the rpm tach from the revell rsx kit i have. i also made the handbrake from scratch and found a fire extinguisher in my parts box to add in there stance isnt perfect on her but it still looks good to me. i painted the rims gold
  20. i do this all the time and im wondering how many of you do the same. when building a model you kinda breeze through the instructions and install a part before it supposed to be and then figure out this should have went in before that. like today i installed the dashboard on my skyline before i put the bottom half of the roll cage in. not thats a big deal its just the roll cage is a pain in the rear to squeeze in now. ive also forgot to add things such as mirror glass or something else small. i did onetime build a car that i forgot to install the firewall i know how can you forget to do that right? well ive made stupid mistakes like as im sure all of us has done something all these lines
  21. i love the colors you chose for this. your engine detail is superb very nice
  22. thanks mate. both kits appear to be good kits. nice moldings. not too many pieces since they are both curbside kits. the subi comes with a real nice set of volk te37 rims
  23. no real update on this thing, just toying around with some wheel choices. im thinking about going with these te37 wheels but im not sure if i wanna attempt to make these fit a tamiya model. they are fujimi and they mount differently. anyway heres the mock ups. those are my rim choices so far. im still gonna look into other rims. those are both at actual ride height. this is a slammed version with the volk rims. it looks sexy slammed but the suspension is already done and glued in so im not gonna change it now. went to a few hobby shops yesterday and picked up a few kits and some other goodies. the wheels above are from the sti and evo kits. also another reason why im unsure if i will use them for the r32. i also bought some wheels from a member on another forum. some other goodies he threw in there
  24. went to two hobby shops yesterday morning and picked up some supplies first hobby shop i got a few paints and this amt 66 nova kit. off to the next hobby shop. got some milliput since the first hobby shop didnt carry it. i found a detail master distributor kit with orange wires. the model selection had some real nice kits but it wasnt as good as the last time i was there. i did however stumble upon this sti and evo 6 to top it all off i came home and found a package in the mail opened it up and found this. i bought the rims from a member on another forum. for good measure he threw in some seats and decals from some other kits id say my day yesterday was pretty darn good
  25. this is a nice kit. the instructions are terrible though and it comes with a few pieces in the kit that you have to figure out what to do with on your own. i had a few fitment issues but other than that it was a great build. i like the idea you got going on over there but your chop was a bit sloppy with the putty. you filled in all the panel lines. do you have to climb through the windows to get in? i like your paint i just would have scribed around the doors and trunk before paint.
