Here are some pictures at my first attempt to build a garage. i used foam board for the base and building. The building is a garage that i had a large poster made of and then sprayed with matte clear coat. The doors and window were cut from the poster and also sprayed with matte clear. The asphat is 80 grit sandpaper that was painted with grey primer and flat black spray paint. The car in the picture is a Grand Am demolition derby car WIP. I have decided to start from scratch on this build and it will be much more detailed outside and in. This started as a background for my pictures and i have decided to make it a lil more than that

Any suggestions on buliding materials to use would be greatly appreciated. I am very new to the diorama aspect of model building.

Get ahold of Ed Shaver, our resident Foam Board nut, you'd be AMAZED at what he can do with that stuff. THEN get ahold of our own Danny Iacoangelli, HE makes ALL the LITTLE things that'll make your Dio POP! They're BOTH the best at wat they do, and you'll be VERY happy with what they can help you with!!!!:D:(;) ;)

I used 180 grit waterproof paper on my "two car garage" in this forum, then gave it a light grey wash with acrylic craft paint from the dollar store. It seemed to work for me. And the 80 grit seems to work for you!!

Nicely done.

Nice work on that so far.

Where on the Cape are you? I'm up in Marlborough.

If you're free on the third Wednesdays, come on up to MassCar for our meeting. We'd love to have you.

Thank you for all the comments everyone. I am going to Redo the pavement so its seem less and some more touch up stuff. I have been thinking about doing the inside as well but i'm in no rush for that yet.

Charlie - I live in sandwich so its quite the drive but its something i might have to make it to one day to check out
