If that body is the same one I have ,the amt c 1500 pick up cab lines up pretty well with the top kick and would make adding an interior a little easier .

Got a lot done. Added to the cab and it has a 72 Chevy bed with fender exstetions...........................

That is coming along nicely but I agree that it needs to sit higher. Right now it looks like a pickup with a Topkick front end conversion. Maybe the chassis from the Ford Louisville would have it sitting right.

I have been messing around with a GMC Top Kick Crew Cab and the amt/ertl Ford Louisville / LN8000 chassis seems to work pretty good under it but have only mocked it up so far so there might be a issue or two the further along it gets but it seems to work. The wheels and tires from the kit might be a bit big, maybe. I got the cab from Tim Sherman at All Seasons Collectable Toys, they came down and stayed with us a few days last week and he brought along the molds for it and let me cast myself one. He did say that he makes some 19.5 inch low profile tires and wheels for it, might end up getting some of those for it.

Bruce, I know you are still trying to find that "just right" look, but I'd like to offer a few (hopefully :( ) helpful suggestions.

First, is there a way to lower the cab down on the frame a little more? I know you need to keep the body line straight between the cab and bed, but in my opinion I think if you could lower both to just around where the two posts on the bed widen from the round part, then use some tubing the same size as what is left to fill the rest of the gap, it would still have the look you're working for.

Second, I think the one ton wheels would just be to small, the normal Top Kick has either 19.5 inch or 22.5 inch wheels. If you have any 1/32 scale big rigs you could sacrifice for the wheels, I think those would be better. If you can find them somewhere, there are 1/32 scale diecast trucks from a company called New Ray that have nice wheels and tires, and I've seen them at some places for less than $10. Even though it not the best pic, this is the closest pic I have of a New Ray truck and the wheels.

I'm not sure, but I may even have an extra set, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll check for you if you're interested.

Keep up the good work, this is getting very interesting! :(

Do the 22s. Those look great. They fill the wheel wells very nicely. I think you should drop the truck just a tad though so that its not quite so high off the wheels. Nice work so far.

Those Semi Wheels look perty good.

Truck looks good in Primer.

Looks like ya need to cut those Lil Pegs off the bottom of the bed to get the bed to drop

on the frame.
