Lownslow Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 close but not quite on a lot of details like the lack of the twin turbo L,euro bumpers, and seats. but i decided to build something close to it. started with the revell 240z kit took a lot of work to get it presentable. the wheels are fujimi tires are a work in progress. i shaved the inside of the fenderwells in hopes of this being the final stance took a few days but its finally in paint the rest of the parts have been painted with testors metalizers this is the shade of blue im using its Opies nail polish with no basecoat
LAone Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 you have my attention. looking forward to some more progress. are those the metal wats?
Lownslow Posted May 23, 2011 Author Posted May 23, 2011 you have my attention. looking forward to some more progress. are those the metal wats? yup have no clue where they came from
Lownslow Posted June 1, 2011 Author Posted June 1, 2011 already in clear mode the paint is nail polish mixed with HOK blue candy concentrate
Lownslow Posted June 4, 2011 Author Posted June 4, 2011 still waiting on the call to get my new dog in the mean time ill watch anime and work on finishing the 240z. its gonna be hard to get that stance but im gonna for it resprayed the motor the aluminum was too bright went for stainless instead.
Lownslow Posted June 4, 2011 Author Posted June 4, 2011 did some more work last night. this was the worst motor i assembled way too much chrome i stripped the valve covers and front block assembly and still ended up looking kinda chromey so i painted and tinted some of the parts.i was gonna wire it sideways then my friend cursed me out cause thats not how L28s are wired it does look good when completed ill give it that starting the suspension this was a chore on its own but not as bad as you think. interior completed
whale392 Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Yup, the L series engine had the plug wires going over the valve cover. Also, later L series motors had a blower duct that went over them as well, to keep the intake/injectors cool due to the intake/exhaust manifold being of a siamesed same-side design. Your 240Z is looking good.
DanielG Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 One of my all time favourite cars. I think the 240Z is one of those timeless classics that looks as good today as when it first rolled off the boat!
