Mooneyzs Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Rom... Nice work on the plumbing of the injector hat. I know how much work that can be. I remember when I bent all of the lines on my 1/16 FED build I have going on. Lots of time patience and extra wire... . I do want to ask what the material is that you used for the webbing on the seat belts, It looks great. and where did you pick it up at. I have picked up some medical bandage tape but seems that I can't find the right one with the right pattern...lol. Nice work... Keep Rockin'

Keep Rockin' It's Johnson & Johnson medical tape you can get it at any drug store, I used it to make the blower blanket and the racing harness. And I used a red sharpie to color it. the Sharpie acts as a dye and doesn't hide the cloth details. Here a picture of it. And here's a preview of what's to come......That's right working butterfly's Stay tuned for more to come Edited August 9, 2011 by Aftashox

I will have to search for that brand and guess I need to pick up some different colored sharpies now too...
Dragracer Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 The plumbing came out nice Rom!, can't wait to see the working butterflies!
pharr7226 Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 The plumbing and racing harness look outstanding.
Romell R Posted August 9, 2011 Author Posted August 9, 2011 (edited) Romell - I suddenly have this urge for both vanilla soft serve ice cream & a margherita. Can you explain the 'goo' inside the blower & the 'salt' on the rim? Mike that goo is actually the drilled out resin and the so called salt is dust from drilling LOL! Tony T Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Looks good, Rom...can't wait for the butterflies to be done!!
Romell R Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 Thought I'd share this with you guys ....I hope you enjoy! I made the floor pan although i cant install it until i get a few of the interior details done, its aluminum and made from 3 pieces. be back soon with more.....
Mooneyzs Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Romell.... Nice work on the Floor Pans... It looks great. What thickness of aluminum did you use for it. I need to make some side pieces for my Funny Car and debating on what I am going to use. Also got a pic of it from the other direction looking.

Thx again Chris for your kind words the sheet aluminum is .016 thickness
Mooneyzs Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Thanks Romell... I need to look into it. Ok so I am full of questions....lol hope you don't mine. On the injector hat what size line and fittings are those and is the line aluminum or stainless rod by chance? I have been thinking about what I am going to use on my funny car and I keep going back and forth on ordering some safety wire or if I can find aluminum wire. I know micheals has some beating wire but I can't remember the type of material that is is.
Romell R Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 No I dont mind at all Chris the line I used for the injector hat is actually Aluminum wire I got out of a kit to hang picture frames, you can get it from Home Depot and the fitting s are .054 HEX from RB Motion
Dr. Cranky Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Your frames (and models) are pure work of art, Romell!
Dragracer Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 The floor looks good Rom (what's new! ),are you gonna leave it the way it is or paint it blue with the rest of the car? (either way it'll look great I'm sure!)
Romell R Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 (edited) Virgil Thx for that huge compliment buddy and you keep up the excellent work you do. Richard Gonna pretty much leave it as it is. just gonna add rivets to it. Thx buddy Edited August 11, 2011 by Aftashox
Romell R Posted August 13, 2011 Author Posted August 13, 2011 Hey thanks Rick im glad you like it. As you may have noticed I had the tread moved to "Drag Racing " I felt it belonged over here Not much of a update today but I thought I'd share what I did do with you. I got my rear wheel put together and now i'll be working on the front set up. I hope you enjoy..... I followed in my buddy Chris' tracks he kinda reminded me to get these resin wheels sanded. Thx Chris
1320wayne Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Every new detail is just more proof positive of what this build will eventually become. Beyond impressive!
Dragracer Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 The slicks & wheels came out lookin' good Rom!,like the blue trim on the rim.
Mooneyzs Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Romell... Those tires are looking good my friend. did you mount them up to a drill to sand them?? I did mine by hand but figured there has got to be an easeir way and were these flashpoint tires?? I found out last night that the rims I have are a little short in width for the flashpoint funny car tires I have. I am going to have to talk to Jim at Micro Nitro to see if he can make the same rims I got from him but a little wider...LOL I will take some pics and have to post them to show you. Felt like I hit a little bit of a stopping point on my build... guess it was a little more bummed but it wasn't going to stop me at all

I got my rims from Jim too and yes they are a little short I asked him to make me some rear lips for the rims and gave him the measurements and he agreed to make them for me. just ask him to do the same for you im sure he wont have a problem with that. And thx for the compliment again buddy.
