Ok another one I have googled and did not get an answer I was satisfied with.

I have a rattle can dupli-color the paint fogged on the darker color. On the lighter color it fogged but left when I added a new coat of paint. What is the process of elimination? Do I need to clear it? or sand it out? Its not metallic so I would be safe in sanding if need be.

when you say fogged, you mean it looks dull or flat on certain parts but glossy on others right?

if so, i had this happen too with duplicolor metallic black. i just sprayed clear over it once cured and it worked fine. i say test it first

i think my mistake was spraying while it was cold, cause it didnt fog over in warmer temps.

I suspect it is blushing ..caused by humidity...too much

Clearing and polishing will work, a trip in the dehydrator could help also..

I live in Humidity World..I deal with blush now and then...letting it dry or reactivating (another coat) lacquers usually solve the problem the trick is finding a low humidity area for spraying and flashing...I then use my dehydrator for final curing and so far its worked well

Yes Arkansas is known for its humidity. I usually paint outside and bring it inside to dry for the most part I have no problem with paint. I don't have a dehydrator yet, so would a clear coat work?

I had the same problem. So I tested Duplicolor black over Duplicolor grey primer on a spoon. It came out looking extremely dull, no shine. Without sanding at all, I sprayed duplicolor clear over it, and it came out nice. I wet sanded and polished the clear and it looks great. Be sure to shake the clear for a full minute otherwise it will come out dull also.

I'm painting a Cadillac now, and the paint is dull. I'm going to wetsand the paint with 6K then 12k then scratch x and clear it. Should look fabulous.
