MyBradKeselowski Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 (edited) Just finished my Nova, I am entering it in the scale model class at our State Fair in October. I'm hoping for a 1-3 place as I have took over 2 months to build. I'm very proud and pleased with it. I chose Tamiya's TS-20 Metallic Green as this was a very close match of the green that was on my mom's 72 Nova. I added engine wiring, heater hoses and I chose to go with only the steelies without the dogdish hubcaps. This is a built memory of my mom's Nova that I won't forget. *sorry for the quality of pictures my cameras coo-coo so I had to use my android phone* Thanks for looking and comments... I know that, didn't have orange paint so I painted it a Chevy later model blue. Thanks on the comment... Edited July 16, 2011 by kaseykahne09
roadhawg Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Looks great to me!! The open wheels are a nice touch. Very Nicely Done, But Chevy engines are Orange..... Chevy engines are whatever color the owners paint them. I saw a 396 in a junky ol' '69 Chevelle painted bright yellow.

I hate it when that happens, I was out of Hemi Orange on a chrysler build, And basically did the same thing, I had a Chrysler engine blue Hemi. I looked kind of cool I thought. Did you have any issues with your plating on your kit? I had alot of issues with the first one I bought, The last 2 of these kits I bought the bodys were twisted so badly I had to order new ones from Revell. Anyways Once again nice build. How close is that Green for the match of the 1972 Nova you discribed? I have an old original AMT 72 Molded in white I'd like to do this color. That kit I just mentioned does not have the issues of the newer ones , It's almost as nice a mold as the revell kit. Aside from the seperate fenders and such. Keep up the good work, You nailed the details perfect. The chassis look great! As doe's the rest of the car.

My body, chassis, interior etc was excellently molded as well as the whole kit and packaged very well. My mom's 72 Nova was a Evergreen or Spruce Green (what Chevy called it), this color was as close to it as I could get. Thanks again for you're nice comment...
