I like the idea of Talledega Bird

I too like to look at drawings of different subjects to come up with some new stuff.

I`ll be waiting for progress on this one.

Well heck Thor, thanks for your post, I'm going for it man, but I'm gonna need a lil help, so, I'm gonna go beg in the wanted section....

If you`re going for the look of the drawing,

i would use some Magnum 500`s on it (maybe larger than stock if possible)

If you are going to use a 'Magnum' style wheel (as both Ford and Mopar used that sexy wheel) but in larger diameter, I will suggest getting a set from Casey (a member here). They are about 21"-23" diameter white resin, and are some of the cleanest, blemish-free castings I have ever received. Shoot them in some Gloss Black, mask the depressions and Alclad the rest and you will have a VERY nice set of 'new Magnums' for this build. Then, see Mike (Shucky) for some of his ProChargers or Turbos and build up a nasty 427 SOHC or Boss429 mill for this and go Pro-Touring route. I would even use the Torino roof like what is suggested above, much smoother and sexier in profile than the Box-bird roof now installed.

Some really great ideas guys keep them coming, im reading them all and thinking about them, got a few of my own too, so lets hear them...

Go for it Michael.

Looks like all you need is an AMT '69 Torino Cobra for the roof and back window. I'll be intrested to see how it all fits together.

Gotta remember Steve, im not gonna go right after this look, but a good idea none the less man, thanx....

I like the idea of the Talledaga Bird, but have you given a thought to color? I personally think bright colors, like the yellow depicted, is a bit much for such a large car.

That said, Grabber Blue is a fave of mine regardless of what car it's on.

One idea I kinda really like is this 71 Talladega bird...

If you were to make your model really close to the drawing with the Torino roof, I think that it would look totally awesome! What a great idea for a project car.

Goin another direction on this, Heres a small update, tho the rear is a Lil low right now that will be fixed...

I like the shaved look of that car better than the "Talladega" Torino roof.

WOW! finaly a lil update, sorta got the engine done, still need to put the air cleaner on, and the headers, It's a 429 semi Hemi, used in the late '60s for NASCAR, but then banned, I dont know why, or care, and before any pinheads step out I kno they also used this as the beginning of the Boss 429, NASCAR required 500 of these to be put into production, only 800, and change were produced,

If I were building it, I think I'd nix the covered headlights and just black out the bezels, then maybe find some photoetch sheet with a 'honeycomb' pattern to use for the grille. However you end up doing it, it'll be cool in my book!

You kno I actually wanna, but no one wants to give up the Talladega body, nah I dont blame them, so I'm gonna go with what I have, even changed my mind on the wheels, again, but the rest will be close, even got the spoiler from a '75 dodge for it, I will scratch the chin spoilers for it, in the next few days, as now I have all the front end cleared, and ready...
