Gentlemen, given how common it is down here to fit an LS1 into pretty much anything, I'd like to put together a model with this engine conversion. What car exactly I'm not too sure just yet.

Obviously the first thing I need is the engine itself. Can anyone suggest which kit contains an LS1 and if there is a number, which one has the best mould? Does anyone know of a resin one or a stand alone engine kit for this?

Thanks guys.

The Revell Ram Air Firebird and Camaro SS kits both have this engine, as well as some of the older Corvette kits from `97 to 2001. IMO, they build up very nicely. I know the Ram Air Firebird is still readily available.

BTW, I am pretty familiar with the LS1`s. Below is my White Firehawk and my wife`s Purple Trans Am, both with LS1`s:

They are great engines. Mine is around 430hp at this point, and still gets 28mpg on long trips!

Pretty much gonna echo what has been said about the Revell F-bodies. You can mix and match the rest of the goodies from the Revell C5 Vettes, C6 Vettes, Silverados and SSRs to get just about any LSx motor in scale. The F-bodies will get you the T-56 stick shift; the Silverado and SSR the automatic.

Here's my Revell LSx crate motor for my '69 Nova:

'02 Camaro block and tranny.

C5 Vette accesories, intake, heads and beauty covers

Silverado oil pan
