carsntrucks4you Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 (edited) The '50 - '51 Mercury dashboard from Replicas Miniatures of Maryland looks to good to hide it in a coupe. Therefore I cut of the roof of Revell's 49 Mercury. But that not all I made a mold of the rear fenders of a 1/25 Hendrix Mercury Coupe and add them to the Revell body The taillights will be from a '54 Lincoln The new bumper is based on a bumper from the Hendrix '51 Mercury Coupe top - resin copy of Hendrix bumper middle - modified new bumper bottom resin copy of new bumper Edited August 1, 2011 by carsntrucks4you

carsntrucks4you Posted October 19, 2011 Author Posted October 19, 2011 After my '49 Mercury Convertible I had move a bit forward with my '51 Mercury convertible. Paint is Candy Green over gold and silver base coat. The paints are Zero Colors.
Dr. Cranky Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Wow, that's looking real good. It's coming along beautifully. Keep it going.
Foxer Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 A great looking old school Merc! Nice job with the rear fenders.

carsntrucks4you Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 My '51 Mercury convertible is nearly finished. I had applied the final clear coat. The interior is now finished. Some items like front indicator and the rear bumper are missing. I had made a new one because the chrome on the first one was everything but not chrome. I'm a bit disappointed on the chrome of the Buick grille from Modelhaus. It isn't that good as expected.
surfjunke Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Looks great! Nice clean work. Love the color.
