Nitrozilla Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Ken, you had me at JJ. (Sorry, big fan.) I use PhotoBucket to store all my pics and I post 5 at a shot using their "direct link" option. If you need more info than that, pm me. Super sweet JJ build and I like the Fiat as well. Give us more.
Mooneyzs Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 More and more great builds everyone. keep them coming. love this thread Hey Burnout.... do you have any more pics of that fiat and is it 1/16th scale or 1/25th? It looks great
1320wayne Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Not too many more completed builds that I can add to this but here are a couple of "out of the box" Top Fuel builds done a few years back. First is the Lori Johns Jolly Rancher car. And next is the Cristen Powell Royal Purple car.
Burnout Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Mooneyzs, The Fiat is 1/25th scale. I've got more photos of it plus of other models I'd like to share but I still haven't quite figured out how you guys post your photos. I opened up a Photobucket account but still don't quite get it and I don't want to clutter up this thread with my learning curve. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Ken

Thanks again, Ken First off, agree with everone on your builds, they're VERY nice! As far as pic posting, when you hit the 'Reply to this topic' button you will get a window for text with two rows of buttons above it. On the second row of buttons , the 11th one from the left is the image button. That will open a little window with a spot to post the link to your picture at Photobucket. Hit the preview button to be sure you got the link right. You can post multiple pics and I believe the limit is 5 pics per single post. Looking forward to seeing more!
funhouse1 Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Nice job Wayne. they look great! Agreed!
Burnout Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I think (hope) I've got this photobucket thing worked out. Thanks for your patience. If this works, I'll try to post more.
Burnout Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Here's another one of my pre-sabbatical builds. Thanks for looking, Ken.
Dragline Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I love your building style Ken. Very.........sanitary Bob
Mooneyzs Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Ken... thanks for posting a few more pics of the Fiat, It looks awesome and you did a great job on it. Both of your other build are very nice as well. Simple and clean looking. Great work!
Burnout Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Again, thank you for your kind words. Here are yet a couple more:
John Teresi Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Ken......your work is absolutely stunning and clean......very nice!!!!!
Dave42 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Top notch work for sure. Your White "Alternative Altered" is on the cover of my very first issue of "another" magazine I subscribed to. Very cool!
6bblbird Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Ken, you build some really nice stuff! The photography ain't to shabby either! WF
Mooneyzs Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Ken... awesome work on the Russ Davis Funny Car and I love the Yellow Dragster... it is just too cool. what kit is that? I may have to do one of those early dragsters one of these days.
Nitrozilla Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 The Russ Davis F/C is gorgeous. I was going to make a smart alec comment about the valve stems until I noticed 3 out of 4 have them. I like consistency in a builder. But seriously, I like the Mustang so much, I might actually consider thinking about the possibility that I might want to, sometime in the near future, consider building something other than a MOPAR. Maybe.
Boreham Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 inspirational stuff Ken. Fansatic builds.
Burnout Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 (edited) Guys, thank you very much for all the compliments. Chris, the dragster is essentially the old AMT Don Garlits Swamp Rat and the engine is mostly from the Revell '41 Willys kit. The scoop is from the parts box. It's really nice to be back into modeling. There is not much going on in the Denver area for modelers (at least that I'm aware of) so it was nice to discover this forum, and especially this thread so I have a place to share my stuff. I am looking forward to getting acquainted with all your work via this thread. Finally, and I hate to single out any one person but, John Teresi, your work blows me away! I can't fathom the amount of work you must put into your models. Thanks again, Ken Edited September 28, 2011 by Burnout
Burnout Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 I probably should have posted these in another thread but since most of my work is found in the previous posts, I decided to keep this this thread alive. I started the Landy Dodge I in 2005 and it was about 95% completed when a new job, a move, and a new baby interrupted my modeling. I just pulled it out a few weeks ago and finished it last weekend. It is mostly the Lindberg Ramchargers '64 Dodge kit with a few changes. I shortened the floor pan/chassis to pull the rear axle forward a scale 8 inches and the front suspension is scratch built and located forward a scale 6 inches to mimic the mods Landy made. The engine bay tin is also scratch built. I know it is not completely accurate but my reference photos were of both the car as it was raced and later as it was restored. I used aspects from both to suit my taste. The Willys I built when the kit first came out. Except for detailing, it is box stock. I think this kit is one of the best drag racing model kits ever built. Thanks for looking. 1
High octane Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Nice builds Ken, both of them. The Landy car looks good and I just LOVE the black Willys!
gasser59 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 I agree, both of these are spactacular Ken. I also agree on the Willys kit being one of the best drag kits that ever went to market. Thanks for posting these.
