Mr. Moparman Posted August 20, 2011 Author Posted August 20, 2011 Looks good so far. The air cleaner is from the AAR Cuda, with the Superbird decal isn't it? As to the Rallye wheels; it looks like you have painted the holes black. That is a good idea, but I would go back and touch the faces up with silver paint. The lug nut detail could be picked out with the same silver paint (or wiped off with a thin brush wet with thinner). Nope, air cleaner was took from '70 Challenger with the same decal from the '70 Challenger
Mr. Moparman Posted August 20, 2011 Author Posted August 20, 2011 OK, does anybody know if rubbing alcahol will remove Tamyia paint? I screwed up the paint job by shooting enamel over laquer. Not very pretty.
Dr. Cranky Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Good details, looking good, please keep it going.
whale392 Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 (edited) Rubbing Alcohol should. Easy-Off Oven Cleaner (yellow can) will as well. I thought the air cleaner looked familiar, just couldn't remember which kit exactly. Thanks Brandon. Edited August 20, 2011 by whale392
Mr. Moparman Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 OK, I put the body in the Purple Pond this morning on the way to school. I finished the interior yesterday. I installed some seatbelts made from styrene and medical tape. I am stuck with this choice. Should I go with the kit's master cylinder or the more detailed one from the Revell '68 Charger? Left is the 'bird's, right is the Charger's. I completed the chassis. Enjoy!
Nick Winter Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Stupid question, but where have you got the spark plug wires running, your picture dosen't really show. Nick
Mr. Moparman Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 Stupid question, but where have you got the spark plug wires running, your picture dosen't really show. Nick It may not be correct, but they run right below the headers.
Mr. Moparman Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 I will be getting some Keith Marks decals for this soon. I am having to give up my school snacks to save the dollars for decals.
Scale-Master Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 (edited) If you haven't put the headers on you might want to re-route the spark plug wires. While running them under manifolds is common, they'd cook under headers. I'm curious why you are concerned with changing the master cylinder to a more accurate unit, (although the power booster looks a litte anemic on the one on the right), but don't seem to care about running the more visible ignition wires correctly? Seems if you are upgrading some parts you'd want the rest to be accurate too. Maybe I'm missing something. It's not like it costs more to do it correctly... Edited August 24, 2011 by Scale-Master
