I had an idea for a diorama, and there is a particular aircraft I would like to include in it, but I don't know my way around helicopter models.

There is a dual prop helicopter that I've seen used for heavy transport. Can anyone tell me what it's called and if they make a scale model version of it? I would need it to be a smaller scale, it would have to measure 4 inches or less across, and I would need there to be availability of people figures in the same scale.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a Marine Corps Chinook. Heavy lift vehicle with twin rotors, one at each end. you need something like 1/72 scale or smaller to find one that small, as they are large aircraft. Hth, good luck! B)

The Marines call it a CH 46, "Sea Knight" AKA Pfrog. The Army's is a CH 47, Chinook, AKA $#!t Hook.

Both are built by Boeing, yet they are two different airframes. A kit of either should fit the bill.

Neil,

If you weather it, don't forget to add the hydraulic fluid. Chinooks leaked like crazy . Don't ask me how I know this....

Cheers, Ian
