69A-CAR Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Hey all, I have a couple kits I am kicking around here, I just realized i don't have instructions to either one. I have never built one of the Italeri pete kits, so I just don't want to screw up something. The cab is strange to me being a knock down, or whatever you call it. Anyway, does anyone have these scanned in the computer?? Many thanks, Mark PS: What engine is in these kits?? Or is it something made up??

I assume that DD blue is newer than green, anyone know when they switched? I have the alpine green here, I am building a 378SBFA daycab tractor, around a 2000 +/- year. Thanks, Mark
mackinac359 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Unless you're going to cheat like me.. and paint them red or yellow and call them "Detroitpillars" or "Cumtroits".. the blue-green is the right color as the Anthony and Kurt mentioned. Kurt's engine is the best looking one out there. I use his model engine photos for reference. The older Detroit Alpine Green was phased out about the time the 60 series debuted (Thank's for the paint Kurt!). A 2000 Pete would have the newer green. The engine was available until the end of the 2002 production year in Peterbilt and KW. Tim

Thanks, Mark Mark.....I never use the stock chrome. All chrome has been stripped, and either stainless steel and or polished aluminum Alclad II has been applied. Much more realistic look..... Tim....how many of the DD60 engines have you built and modified?? That is a question I personally would like to know....Thanks again, Kurt
mackinac359 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Kurt, How many have been modified, or "paintified?" Most all of the Italeri Pete's I've built have the engine. Some with minor cosmetic changes to appear like something else. A half-dozen maybe modified, the rest are stock with the paint being the only change to appear to be something else when the hood is closed and only the oil pan visible. Tim
