Darren B Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Just got this kit and want to do a super detail on it, does anyone know of a good site to find good reference pics of under the hood and cab, meaning i want to add every nut and bolt for extra detail and this is an awesome kit but the interior is gonna need a lot of work, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Chuck Most Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 detail pics are out there, i think Chuck Most has a great picture album of these trucks as well as someone else here. proper placement of the intake manifold is key, get it wrong and there will be a lot of fit issues with the cab and other parts. Dunno about great, but I do have four albums full of 'em, mostly '60's and earlier models! Andyeah, watch that intake manifold. Here are my photo albums' http://public.fotki.com/ChuckMost/ford-c-series/
txdieseldog Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 (edited) Darren, I have seen several pics right here in the truck 1:1. Might be a good start. BTW: just a little tid-bit. I grew up in Belen. used to go to concerts and such in Albuturkey! lol Edited September 15, 2011 by txdieseldog
chuckyr Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 What is the name of the trucking company on the door on the box of of that kit?
cargostar Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I have a couple under cab shots, showing the coil springs that help tilt the cab, if they will help.
Badluck 13 Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 proper placement of the intake manifold is key, get it wrong and there will be a lot of fit issues with the cab and other parts. Yeah but as usual, you pulled it off, yours turned out soooooooooooooooooooooo sweet
Darren B Posted September 17, 2011 Author Posted September 17, 2011 Ryan Silva has a great collection of c series trucks. http://public.fotki....d-c-series-coe/ I have a few photos in mey personal collection of the interiors of c series. But they are from a junkyard. So they are trasehd but still lots of details like dash wiring and such can be seen in them. Thank you those will help for sure Dunno about great, but I do have four albums full of 'em, mostly '60's and earlier models! Andyeah, watch that intake manifold. Here are my photo albums' http://public.fotki..../ford-c-series/ Thank you those photos are what im looking for.
Darren B Posted September 17, 2011 Author Posted September 17, 2011 I have a couple under cab shots, showing the coil springs that help tilt the cab, if they will help. Yeah those would help a great deal all the help i can get on detail.
Darren B Posted September 17, 2011 Author Posted September 17, 2011 you want to make sure that the intake manifold is positioned towards the rear of the engine/heads. the instructions are unclear on this and i centered the intake manifold on the heads which put the carb and everything too far forward and into the bottom of the cab floor because of that mistake i ended up notching the cab floor and made a hump to clear the air cleaner. it works, but it's not accurate. the other thing is that the door mirror brackets are all goofy and you end up with some weird angles on the mirrors when they are assembled. Thank you for the info and that is an awesome job on this kit, awesome job.
Darren B Posted September 17, 2011 Author Posted September 17, 2011 What is the name of the trucking company on the door on the box of of that kit? It says metro in red but cant make out the other writing, the kit i bought was open and no decals, so not sure if it was on a decal sheet (probably was). Darren, I have seen several pics right here in the truck 1:1. Might be a good start. BTW: just a little tid-bit. I grew up in Belen. used to go to concerts and such in Albuturkey! lol We were practically nieghbors, are you still living in Belen?
chuckyr Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 It says metro in red but cant make out the other writing, the kit i bought was open and no decals, so not sure if it was on a decal sheet (probably was). I found out what it says. Metro Freight Systems. I saw some double trailers on Hank's Site that had Metro Freight Systems. So it is/was an actual freight company.
Darren B Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 These are awesome just what im looking for............thank you.
