Kaleb Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 So here I am getting ready to get these parts painted and put together, And Wha laaa two parts up and disappear. One part really does not matter but the other is the Oil cap. I don't remember the shape and size of it so I don't know about replicating it. It would not be so bad but its the 1:12 mustang. I had to vent here because my wife would not understand, I guess its back to fight the carpet monster (It loves mustang parts).
RodneyBad Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Well, time to get on your hands and knees with a flashlight and magnifying glass and crawl around.. Wait, 12th scale? Shouldn't be that hard to find.
Wagoneer81 Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Vacuum in the area you lost the parts with a piece of nylon panty-hose stretched over the end of the sweeper extension hose... It's worked for me in the past, maybe it'll work for you... Here's hoping, anyway!

I think I lost one outside which is the Oil cap.
Dr. Cranky Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Don't despair. Use a vacuum cleaner and then look through what it picks up . . . also an oil cap might be an easy thing to replicate, or if you have watch parts, you can look through them.
Harry P. Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 All you need to replace the oil cap is a piece of round styrene rod. Even a piece of round sprue will work. Or any old thing in your parts box that's about the right size/shape. Very simple to do.
mr cheap Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 (edited) is it shinniny ..check with the pack rats the real ones...or ferrets Edited September 15, 2011 by mr cheap
Kaleb Posted September 15, 2011 Author Posted September 15, 2011 Yea I have some that should work, I will size it according to the decal that goes with it. As for the other piece it is just a back plate that will prob wont be noticed. I thought I had an extra part but finally found that it goes on top of the supercharger.
Rick Schmidt Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 the 1/12 Mustang should use a standard Ford Cap find ya a pic use ya decal as size reference and go at it cuttin
prostockmania Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 just go online to revell, and get a replacement one,
