slammd454SS Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Can't say its been done, at least to this extent.. started off by cutting the Escalade front end into a 99 chevy, then opened the hood with grille insert added to it. Opened the doors and hinged them suicide and also swings into the body unlike normal suicide doors. Bed is from a ford lightning, and a chevy ssr fenders. Lightning tailgate, handbuilt rollpan over to the fenders. Clear bed floor added Interior is all caddy, added the sub box and stretched it in the middle, added the amp on a rack behind it, sliding seats, tilt steering wheel, tvs in the doors, console and roof, square sub in the dash, glove box opens revealing a PS2, engine is a 409 from a 59 impala, wired, plumbed all 3 carbs, throttle spring, scratchbuilt pulleys, rearend will be IRS hand built out of parts in boxes, compressor for the air tank be an engine driven compressor ill be building for it. Now some pics
slammd454SS Posted September 25, 2011 Author Posted September 25, 2011 This is where its at to this point, alot of detailing inside, under the hood and thruout underneath.
RodneyBad Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Very interesting looking Conversion and nice work.
Rob Z Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Really interesting concept you got going there... Really looks good, love the idea of the Ol' Skool motor in a New Skool ride...
slammd454SS Posted September 25, 2011 Author Posted September 25, 2011 Thanks guys, new here but not at all to modeling. 15+ years of kitbashing experience. Not too much I haven't done to a truck kit. Also do some cars, depending on what it is.
Dirty Gringo Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 wow thats alot of work catn wait to see complete
hd2500gmc Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Nice work !! Do you have a color picked out, I like how you did the doors and the glass bed...
slammd454SS Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 The first color is intense blue pearl, tho that might get laid as my base...or become the color for the entire truck...not set in stone as to which color choice im goin with but it will be a blue shade. Ii gotta come across a rear window so I can add my license plate to it there.
Skydime Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 This truck is looking great. This reminds me of some of the trucks I used to see when I went to truck shows all the time. Escalade front ends always look good on a Silverado. Sure wish Revell or Round 2 would make a stepside kit for any of the last three body style Silverados. Um, or the last two in any form. LOL
slammd454SS Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 Makes ya wonder why they didn't make a 99 stepside kit? Either case, this is what should have been... was aiming for the newer style bed on the chevy/gmc but im happy with the results already. Im getting the body work done, the bed is smoothed down, ready for primer.
BKcustoms Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 WOW! Now that is an awesome kitbash. Can't wait to see the paintjob, intense blue is one of my favorite paint colors.
tooltas Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 looks great i got one caddie cliped 99 ck too but its jack up on some 44 boggers i got 3 them kits they're great kits
slammd454SS Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 I haven't done too much with it, but have painted it, done interior in a tan color, waiting on my GPS, tv. & radio screens to get here for that to get done. Amp is wired in, brake lines on all 4 corner. I do have the lights in and the clear lenses are painted a clear blue for a wilder look (unpictured). got one more month to get it all buttoned up and finished.
slammd454SS Posted November 9, 2011 Author Posted November 9, 2011 For the deadline grim, I knew it wouldn't make it to atlanta in one piece...ill still take it and show it for what it is..the decals are heading my way tomorrow so if I get em on the truck before the show is gonna be close.
JamesW Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 You got over a month for the deadline. We decided on Jan. 1st didn't we?
