Nick Winter Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Just want to let everyone on here know that if they received an email from me, IT IS NOT FROM ME, DELETE IT. I HAVE NO RELATIVES, ESPECIALLY COUSINS IN LONDON, AND I'M NOT IN LONDON, THIS IS 100% A SCAM. EVEN IF I DID HAVE A SICK RELATIVE, I WOULD NEVER ASK FOR ANY KIND OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT FROM ANY OF YOU, THAT's NOT WHO I AM. THE REAL Nick Winter
sjordan2 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 But...what about your princess sister in Ethiopia who needs help getting her millions out of the country?
Nick Winter Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 How are you? i do hope that you receive this email in good health. I am presently in London (United Kingdom) to be with my ill Cousin, whom is a student here. She's suffering from a critical uterine fibroid and must undergo a hysterectomy surgery to save her life . I am deeply sorry for not writing or calling you before leaving, the news of her illness arrived to me as an emergency and that she needs family support to keep her going, I hope you understand my plight and pardon me. So I want to transfer her back home to have the surgery implemented there because hysterectomy surgery is very expensive here, Am wondering if you can be of any assistance to me, I need about $2750 to make the necessary arrangement; I traveled with little money due to the short time I had to prepare for this trip and never expected things to be the way it is right now. I'll surely pay you back once I get back home, I need to get her home ASAP because she is going through a lot of pain at the moment and the doctor have advised that it is necessary that the tumor is operated soon to avoid anything from going wrong. I'll reimburse you at my return. Regards, Nick Winter The email that was sent. Nick

Harry P. Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Trying to get my account back. And it's not easy, the guy changed a lot of stuff on me, including my security question. lotta good it's doing. Nick All you have to do is change your password. It happened to me, that's what I did. Once your old password is no good any more, the hacker is finished.
highway Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 All you have to do is change your password. It happened to me, that's what I did. Once your old password is no good any more, the hacker is finished. Yep, that's what I had to do when my Hotmail was hacked earlier this year and someone sent a virus to everyone in my contact list. As for any help from Hotmail, don't bother, they didn't do anything for me!
Nick Winter Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 Little update, someone marked my account as a spam account and Hotmail closed it, no worries for me, I created one with a more secure password. Nick
bigphoto Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 At least they said London UK as London Ontario would have been closer!!
Nick Winter Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 (edited) yeah London Ontario I wouldn't need $2750.00 I'd need $27.50 for gas money. Nick Edited October 10, 2011 by Nick Winter
MrObsessive Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 One of the things I've learned over the years in this computer world, is to create a password of a word that's NOT in the dictionary. Along with some numbers and a symbol or two, your password can be practically uncrackable. Now if you're not keeping your antivirus/malware/firewall software up to date, it's only a matter of time before a keylogger, or some other malicious software can get dropped on your OS. Then all the clever passwords in the world will be a moot point. And with the economy the way it is as of late, there are folks literally beating their fists against the headboard, staring at the ceiling at midnight--------conjuring up ways to try to beat folks out of their money.
