stewart Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 This as a project I have been working on for over the last couple of weeks. Lots of bodywork. I extended the hood about a 1/2 inch and extended the roof line. The bed is to AMT dually beds put together. I widened the fenders by cutting them off and extending them with a strip of styrene. Here is the end look I am going for with a little bit of this mixed in I plan on using a big-rig diesel with exhaust stacks and a semi truck suspension. I am just letting this one "design itself" as I go along. STewart
stewart Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 I will be using these wheels with a super single-type tire in the back. STewart
mannyclub Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Very cool build! That will be a sweet truck when its finished. Will be following this for sure. Manny
hd2500gmc Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 I will be watching this one I like the idea... Lets see some more pics.....
stewart Posted October 8, 2011 Author Posted October 8, 2011 I opened up the rear wheel wells a little more. I have to wait to do too much more though until my wheels and tires get here. This is the suspension I will be using. It is a resin setup from a Volvo full-size rig. STewart
RodneyBad Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Engine is looking Good. Nice rear frame section. Nice Stretch on the Dodge.
stewart Posted October 9, 2011 Author Posted October 9, 2011 I started work on the suspension setup. I decided I didn't really like the setup of the one I had and I was going to have to modify it anyway so I decided to use some of the parts and make a setup similar to this Hendrickson setup. I had to extend the axles in order to get the wheels out under the fenders. I am planning on doing a rather detailed setup with all the nuts and bolts. Here is a picture with the slightly enlarged wheel arches. I basically lengthened the arches. STewart
